Yeah it's pretty weird how many people always dump our losses on the goalie. Reimer, Andersen and now we have @LEAFANFORLIFE23 blaming Campbell for not beating MTL despite his .934 SV%. Why not hold our highly paid superstars accountable for being shut down by Price? Weird.

Jack didn't play prefect hockey but in the 3 games we needed to win he posted a .914/.896/.920
He was better in Montreal.

An easy scapegoat but he played well enough to win the series. I wouldn't call him a loser any more then the rest of the team.

Especially in the Montreal series there were a bunch of goal causing mistakes in games 5/6 that were not his fault

People seem to give him a rep for the first goal of game 7 vs Montreal without remembering how terrible we were in the first period of that game

If DeSmith gets 2 years at 1.8, in what world does Campbell think he's worth 5?

The offer is nothing short of insulting to Campbell. Mrazek makes 3.8 and he offers 2.75...its laughable.

And DeSmith just signed for 1.8M X 2 as a UFA with similar numbers/age to Campbell.

Mrazek cleared waivers. Teams wouldn't pick him up for free, do the Leafs want that with Campbell too?

IHL was best I could do after OHL for 4 years .. Freddy is a super nice guy .. even stopped after his round for some darts and drinks in clubhouse .. his woods and irons are outstanding .. on hole 1 at Issy a 368 yd par 4 easy straight hole he crushed it within 5 yards of green .. I have not seen anyone hit it that close .. my son got within 10 yds once he says and he averages over 300 yds per drive
He got lots of extra playing time in Toronto.

Reactions: JT AM da real deal
no no I don't think that has been reported and if it has it's not accurate because he was recently directly asked about Montreal and he said that they would be an option and it was recently reported that had a deal been reached betwwen Chicago and Toronto for him and the deadline he would have waived.

Last time I checked both Toronto and Montreal were in fact in Canada

I choose MAF and Holtby please

thank you
I’m confused - you had us giving up the farm for Gibson - No?

Now you want MAF?

Guys like Ullmark and Petersen are getting $5 million per so I can easily see some team giving him that as an UFA.

Gibson would still be my top choice but the talk around him seems to have died down.

the truth is I just want a new goalie

I would prefer it be Fluery if it's not Gibson

But it could be MAF, Varlamov, Husso, Kuemper, Blackwood, Gibson

I just don't want Campbell back.

Still hasn't gotten out of the first round there has no progress.

Regular season records are great but at this point they mean NOTHING
The regular season doesn't "mean nothing."

It is very important both as a qualifier and as a preparation for the playoffs, and as a measurement of success.

I want a team that keeps knocking on the door and is a contender every year. That's pretty much what Shanahan said at the beginning of his term, and I think it's the right approach.

If the Leafs keep knocking on the door, they will eventually get in.

Don’t want Campbell either.
I think we will hate an aging MAF.

For me:
Big trade for a Helly/Demko
Husso

Blackwood

Varlamov
Kuemper

The rest…

Gibson

I wouldn't bet the house on either Gibson or Fleury.

If either were to come at a low cost of cap room and hockey assets then I would be fine with that.

Otherwise, I am sick and tired of the Toronto Maple Leafs practice of mortgaging the future for aging players who spent the best part of their careers elsewhere. From Owen Nolan to Nick Foligno and everyone in between -- good riddance! Let's not add someone's washed-up, leftover goalies to that list!

I want the Leafs to develop their own talent and give us new and emerging stars, at goaltender and every other position.

Gibson and Fleury, no thanks, unless they are nearly free!

The regular season at this point means nothing they have proven they can dominate that, they have done that for years and there is no reason to believe that won't continue

the ONLY thing that matters, the ONLY thing that counts is the playoffs

then and ONLY then will progress be made

don't have time to develop a goalie we need someone that can play THIS year not in 2028
