OK, caught up on a last couple of pages so now I could get into discussion:

1. I think it is only due to FO perspective on long term players control / cap management was why Chytil and Andersson only played 9 and 7 games last season. I bet that otherwise they would have seen more games. They Rangers didn't improve their roster from the end of last season so if I was a betting man I'd bet on both being in the line up as early as a start of the new season. That 4th line that @Amazing Kreiderman posted was disgusting even for a rebuilding team. Nieves and Lettieri will be in the mix, McLeod will get a chance to be 13th forward and I get the idea that there's still room for C&A to develop in AHL but I just do not see it as a likely outcome.

2. Will it be Hayes or Chytil centering 2nd line? Who cares? I think the idea is that Chytil will get a chance to play with someone who has more offense, like Zuke if he's still on the roster. Chytil and Zuke will likely be a thing, and I'm just musing who'd be that 3rd "two-way" forward on that line. Has to be defensively responsible, able to create space / time and somehow keep up with Chytil and Zuke on offense. Names? Fast?

3. I'd be really surprised if Hakek or Lindgren are not with Hartford, but if we pretend that one of them is with the Rangers then who'd be his partner and on what pair? Shattenkirk needs someone who'd protect / cover for him. Pionk? ADA? Maybe Smith? Options are questionable at best and so with the number of bodies the Rangers have on D, I see Skjei-Shatty, Staal-Pionk, Smith/Gilmour/Claesson/O'Gara/ADA all ahead of H&L to start the season.

Interesting that everyone (myself included) assumed big changes would happen player wise this summer, and yet nothing has happened

At this point I'm operating under the assumption that all the RFA's will be back, and playing for the team next year

Unless they plan to flip Hayes or Spooner immediately after they ink them to a contract, but that seems unlikely

people shouldn't get caught up in the order of the lines...if chytil is in the lineup you want to put him with linemates that put him in a position to grow and improve. whether you label it the 2nd line, 3rd line or 4th line doesn't really matter.

On RW next to Kreider and Zibanejad...groom him for the spot going forward. Then, after the Rangers draft Turcotte/Newhook, you can run out a 2nd line of Buch/Turcotte or Newhook/Kravtsov, unless you want to swap Chytil and Buch. Andersson and Howden can anchor the 3rd line.

When’s the next rfa hearing ? Forces a signing usually

well of potential interest since he is always mentioned in trades. trouba's hearing is today

for our guys Skjei on 7/31, Hayes on 8/2 and Spooner on 8/4

Chytil needs to be at center until he shows he shouldn’t be. You can’t bank on another draft and the future of this organization depends on having a high scoring #1 center. Our best shot at having one is Chytil.

well it wouldn't have to be a permanent move...it wouldn't be the first time that a player started on the wing so there is less responsibility as he adjusts to the nhl and then gets shift back to center when he is ready

I lean toward he should be left at center for now and then shifted later if needed, but also don't think it would be a big deal if him or lias ended up on the wing this year.

I tend to believe the coaching staff will need some time to adjust to the NHL and it's possible management decides to keep their best prospects in the AHL until that settles somewhat.

I think they will get called up at some point, if they stick some others will get moved or waived to open up a more permanent spot.

It would also allow for the AHL team to actually possibly be pretty good, perhaps they want them to go through that positive experience at least for a while, more so than see them stick with what will likely be a tough season for the NHL team.

Kreider/Ziba/Buch
Chytil/Hayes/Zucca
Names/Lias/Spooner
Vesey/Howden/Fast
Lettieri

Staal/Shatty
Skjei/Pionk
Lindgren/ADA
Smith

Hank
Georgie

That'd be my guess.

Will Hartford try and mimic Quinn's system? I feel like that's a very important part of player development. The less a player has to think when called up and can just focus on playing the better.

the rangers have done this for years. it is very important to keep the teams in sync so when players are called up they know what is expected. I don't see why that would change.

He wouldn’t be the first, but I think it’s usually the other way around. Players who are centers come into the league at center and move to wing later. Think about Brandon Dubinsky or Adam Graves.

That'd be my guess.

I don't think we see Lindgren or Hajek to start the season in the NHL. I think we do see (8) defensemen start the year in the NHL though.

Skjei-Pionk
Smith-Shattenkrik
Staal-ADA
O'Gara-Gilmour

Also the Rangers moved Hayes to the wing so Chytil could play center at the end of last season. For the year Chytil has been Rangers property, he’s been a center

I think of all our rookies, Lindgren has as good a chance as anyone to make the team.

Would not be surprised if he locked down a 3rd pairing spot at all.

I'm going to guess

13 forwards
Kreider-Zibanejad-Buchnevich
Spooner-Hayes-Zuccarello
Vesey-Namestnikov-Fast
Nieves, McLeod, Beleskey, Holland

7D
Shattenkirk, Skjei, Staal, Pionk, Smith, DeAngelo, Claesson

It's pretty much everyone they would otherwise have to waive to send down other than Pionk, Nieves. Maybe they keep O'Gara up too.
