Can't we go for Landeskog instead of Duchene? Having watched him play alot on the national team, I consider him a very skilled player who plays with alot of grit, and the asking price would probably be considerably cheaper than Duchene.

Why do we need Landeskog? He doesn't play center.

I think they are looking to build around him and MacKinnon. Duchene is the odd man out.

2018 1st should be off limits right now. Period.

Trading away Hayes in a madcap scheme to get Duchene kind of renders the move pointless, as the Rangers would still be 1 to 2 centers short, depending where you want to slot Miller. The only way a trade for Duchene makes sense is if the Rangers keep Hayes and Miller. That makes them a very dangerous team.

Not really if your top 2 are Duchene and Zibanejad, you can afford to keep Miller at wing and go with a more defensive minded 3rd line center.

Eh we need that Center mayne. I really like Landeskog but I don't think the Avs move him right now. His value's at an all-time low considering he's coming off a bad year, 30-something points right? That's good for us, but I just don't think the Avs do it yet, if ever. He's a piece they probably want to stick with, especially since he's the Captain (not that Captains can't be moved obviously, but still)

What do you guys think Jussi Jokinen would be looking for on a 1 or 2 year deal after his buyout? He's a good FO guy and possession player and had a down season on a down team last year. I think he'd be great in that 3C and would probably go for one of those prove it, $1-2M contracts at his age. He would also have the ability to move up and down in the lineup in the case of injury.

Was thinking to move Miller to C and replace him on the wing with Landeskog, maybe I'm mistaken but to my memory Avs front office made a push to try to move him and Duchene a couple of months ago. Nonetheless he's a good player who is probably cheaper right now than he'll ever be.

I was thinking he would be a good option for the 3rd line center spot. 60 points just a year ago.

I would't mind moving Miller back to C if we HAVE to but I'd prefer him on the wing. Kinda like Gally, he's better on the wing with his speed.

Haven't really paid attention lately? Nice title but it's just BBK having a laugh rather than reports linking Marc in a potential trade? Right?!

Trying to think up some targets at center, having a pretty tough time thinking of who could even potentially be available. What I've got so far for realistic targets:

Tyler Bozak (TOR), Calle Jarnkrok (NSH), Sam Bennett (CGY), Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (EDM), Jussi Jokinin (UFA), Nick Bjugstad (FLA), Trevor Lewis (LAK), Vladislav Namestnikov (TBL; has mostly played wing at the NHL level but was drafted a center)

Bigger, likely unavailable/un-affordable names:

David Krejci (BOS), Matt Duchene (COL), Sam Reinhart (BUF), Nazem Kadri (TOR)

I really hope Gorton has something up his sleeves, because, to me, most of these names are unappealing. I'd love to get either of Kadri or Reinhart, but they would probably cost us Brady Skjei, and I have no interest in moving him unless it's for MacKinnon or someone like that. I'd be pretty happy with Jarnkrok in a bottom-6 role, he's excellent defensively and can add a bit of offense. Namestnikov is a guy I think has untapped potential who could use a change of scenery.

Habs are gonna Hab.

If the Habs don't resign Markov, they'll be in A LOT of trouble! A non playoff team for sure! If they sign Galchenyuk for say 6X6, they'll probably have close to $10M in cap space but no one impactful to sign! On top of that, they have absolutely ZERO blue chip prospects in their pipeline!!!
Their GM is a real clown, he'll be fired over the summer...

I certainly hope not. This is beautiful to me, I'm just relishing in the Canadiens miring themselves in long term mediocrity.

Can we send them Marc Staal for Gally before he's gone? :sarcasm:
