Not necessarily true. Brad Richards and Shattenkirk are two prime examples here. One was traded at the deadline and signed with us months later. The other waited until free agency and signed with us.

If a player wants to play here, and the feeling is mutual, it'll happen. No need to blow our load of assets we acquired.

We aren’t talking about a deadline acquisition or someone who played for 5 years for the team he got traded to before becoming a free agent.

Those are examples, but they’re bad ones.

I get the feeling that the belief as to whether one believes the Rangers are in or out on Karlsson depends heavily on whether one wants the Rangers be in or out on Karlsson.

I don’t want or not want it. I also don’t think any member of the media really knows in this case.

Well, the people who tend to cover the team are clearly in the no camp.

Which, to me, means they’re getting fed info from the Rangers. The other side is getting it from Ottawa. It’s the same dance we go through all the time. Each side trying to get leverage. In the end, I don’t think Gorton will pay the price, but I think he does his due diligence.

They are dependent on sources who will reveal or not as they please and in this case, those sources have to be high up and reveal that they’re negotiating with another team’s player, permitted or not. And they have to have purpose to revealing anything, which wouldn’t benefit the Rangers at this point.

So I remain skeptical of all of this at this point.

I think that also cuts both ways.

I think everyone is now overly skeptical about everything and anything.

I’m not really sure what there is to be skeptical of.

Even if we throw out the reports, the track record to this point would point to a more conservative approach to pursuing trades and sticking to the plan they’ve outlined.

If anything, I think we’d be more skeptical if suddenly they were cited as the favorites to land EK.

I have a bad feeling Lou will make sure all of our young kids are hurt whenever we play. These Isles games are gonna be nervewracking with all these bozos in their bottom 6
No. Lou wouldn't do that.

...he'd use his mafia connections to break their legs after the game while they're leaving the arena.
