i think the blue line and the impact of quinn's new system is a much bigger question than the forwards. but we also can't underestimate how bad we were when guys got hurt...kreider was out 12/27-2/23, we went 7-16-1 while he was out.

Exactly...this team is not equipped to handle major injuries. And while Quinn should eventually be an improvement over AV, we have no idea how soon this team becomes comfortable with his system.

Stepan got a better package back assuming that 1st is not top 10. 2021 2nd? That's gotta be payment for paying the bonus. The others are middle six players. Better than depth but not better than top tier 2nd liners

I'll say this, I don't think there is a team out west who is worse than they are.

Rangers are a bottom 5 team. Which is fine. As long as the young core improves it's a successful season. Hank is Hank. The forwards are in pretty good shape. The defense is probably the worst in the league but will also likely look very different October 2019. This year is going to be rough but I don't think they will spiral downward too much longer

By go well, I mean all the questions are answered positively...even if that happens, they’re not a playoff team. The defense is awful, backup goalie is a question mark, Henke is a year older, the kids could spend most of the year going back and forth from Hartford, and we’ve seen what an injury to a player like Kreider can do. And they haven’t added anything to improve the depth. People are really underestimating how bad this team is right now.

tage thompson is a nice young player but not a game changer. subotka and berglund are reduntant pieces with schenn, o'reilly, and bozak up the middle. blues arent making this trade with the idea that a 1st rounder is gonna be top 20. dont really like the deal for buffalo.

Oreilly's value is in the tank with all the comments he has made and how buffalo couldn't get out of the basement with him, let alone wil.

It's a good coup for the blues

Huh? The Rangers have done great at taking players with potential that had a bad start to their career and getting them back on track and playing decently well
