Torts rant stuff:

Parting shots: Blue Jackets' John Tortorella angered by...

'“I don’t think he had a bad year,” Rutherford told reporters in Pittsburgh. “He was a healthy scratch at the end of the season. I know the reason why. It wasn’t because of how he was playing.”
Those comments irritated Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen, who said he’d be calling Rutherford for an explanation in coming days.
But they infuriated Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella, who wanted to vent.
“All I know is, this organization, from the lawyers, the front office, J.D. (John Davidson), the managers, the coaches, players … has done nothing but try to help Jack,” Tortorella told The Athletic. “And for him to backhand slap us like this is utter bull****, and he should know better.'

It goes on like this for quite a while.

Damn I gotta get an Athletic subscription.

I know Rutherford has his name on 3 cups, but man was that not a smart thing to do. Doubt there will be many trades between those two clubs anytime soon.

Hahahahahahahaha. Lou is grasping at thin air right now.
Tavares calls him and tells him he's walking at 11PM.
spends the night awake figuring out backup plans.
Leo Komarov sweepstakes on hold because Leo knows he can get the biggest contract from Lou when Tavares walks.
Gets blasted for having a $10M 4th line.
Finds Botterill's number from his rolodex.
Calls him to inquire and make an offer. I'll get back to you Lou, I got another call incoming.
STL has acquired ROR.

The last few years has had its heartbreaks but this makes it all worth it.

It was a bitch move by Pittsburgh to say crap like that

Keeping Kostin, Thomas, and Kyrou is huge for St Louis. Thompson is okay but totally expendable for them. The rest is cap dumps or hopes and dreams.

Buffalo got hosed, IMO.
I'd say ROR is worth about the same as McDonagh + Miller but we got back noticeably more

Buffalo wins that trade. RoR is only going to get older. Was never fast. Never a big point producer. The Sabres did very well. Blues got bent over

Actually, let's compare this to what we got in the Nash trade

1st = 1st
2nd > 3rd
Lindgren = Thompson
Berglund = Spooner
Sobotka >>> 7th

Sooo, they got a 2nd instead of a 3rd + a 31 year old Dman signed for this year and next
