Tavares says LI is Home and he loves the Islanders. Then bolts for Toronto after not letting islanders trade him to get something out of him leaving.

As others have said, the average cap hit for any player on a NHL roster is well over $3m. The cap is no longer $60m. These contracts may seem high and like all UFA’s, they probably are, but this is the new norm

That's hilarious. Toronto finally gets a hometown boy to come home as a UFA and it totally screws the Islanders.

Wonder if this frees up Nylander or Marner for help on the blue line.
