Maybe hold off on celebrating the demise of the Islanders. We're headed in the same direction.

When they lose good players it's "lol Piles" but when we lose good players it's a rebuild with a plan that will result in multiple championships.

Funny how that works.

The difference is that we didn't lose our good players for nothing, and we didn't lose anyone near JT's caliber.

When we lose good players, we get something back for them.

They just lost their franchise player for nothing.

lol piles is fitting right now.

We trade our good players, we don't let them walk. Big difference.

We traded ours and are off to one of the best rebuilds in the league, their franchise player just walked out

They held onto to Tavares in a year they were not making the playoffs. They lost him for NOTHING. Their prospect cupboard isnt deep. We are deeper.

We have a lot to celebrate

Deeper yes, but they do have a lot of talent in their pool. Wahsltrom, Dobson, Bellows, Beauvillier, Ho Sang, Sorokin, oh and that Barzal guy.

You have the 11th and 12th pick, one of them cause your team missed the playoffs. You end up using both of them, showing no intention of trading for a player who can help compete now. Don't be surprised your star center wants out...

Or, you use both of them because you already knew your star player was moving on.

And we dont? Beauvillier and Ho Sang are still up in the air. They just drafted Wahlstrom and Dobson. Who is playing defense for them? Sorokin is that much different than Shesty?

Cmon now dont be foolish

Weird that people think losing a ppg superstar center for nothing is somehow worse than losing a borderline 1D for a handful of futures

And that kind of asset management is exactly what Sather lacked as GM.

Some people are going to hate on Gorton regardless of what he does.

He watched McD for years. He saw what we saw. I’ll take that trade 11 out of 10 times, even if the prospects we acquired don’t become exceptional players.

He flipped Grabs to NJ who benched him in the playoffs. He flipped Nash, who might retire, for assets that outproduced Nash.

How the **** can anyone complain.
