Depends how far away you thought they were last season.

I think they were pretty far away, yet they had a ton of regular season success and won a round with Zacha, Coyle, and Geekie.

They can argue that they get Poitras back and that he’ll continue to grow into a T6 center role.

Assuming DeBrusk walks, you’ve got a hole at wing in addition to an aging Marchand.

In a vacuum, it looks like they’ve got money to burn, but when you factor in Swayman’s new deal, it’s going to evaporate quickly.

So do you go value across the board to fill needs or do you land one big fish and shop in the bargain bin again and get the next Heinen and Van Reimsdyk?

They are two centers better than Coyle, a winger within hailing distance of Verhaege
and a Dman the equivalent of OEL away. 2022-23 Lindholm was certainly better than OEL P, but he ain't coming back. Goaltending is the only position Boston matches up.

I don't see any wingers approaching CV available so the best route to me is go after both Stephenson and Lindholm hard to make sure you get one and look into Vrana.

Jake Bean did not get a QO from CBJ

Defensmen
Left Shot (can play LD or RD)
6'1 / 190lb
Bean has proven he can run a PP at the minor league level and produce offense.
On occasion he will surprise goalies with his release from the top of the circle / walking to middle of ice to direct pucks on net. Average plus distributor at the NHL level. Better timing required / needs to move puck quicker and not expose himself physically / turn over the play in key areas of the ice.
Generally light player. Not much in the way of physical push back. Average plus skater.
2-way 'D' - Averaging 15:19 TOI - 14:33 ES to start the year. Low end of average defensively.
