Right now, unless we move Holl, we don't have room for any RD in the NHL.
I think Subban and Stralman still have a couple more years as bottom pairing defensemen in them. They very well may be the only RD left on the market who can say that though. Although Pysyk and Stone may get some interest from teams who really want RD too. Stone hasn't played much, but he has been good when he has played.

With Caroline acquiring Patches does Necas become available at all ? Rfa with substantial room to grow; coming off a disappointing season but a ton of talent . I'd love to try him somewhere in the top 6 If the cost isn't ridiculous. Wonder what the salary expectations are .

I don’t see a lot of clarity with our forward group at the moment.
First line is set.
I don’t think JT and Willie mesh so you could have a third line of Engvall Kampf and Willie?
Or Engvall Kampf and AK as a 4th line/ shutdown line.
Does that leave JT with Kerfoot and Robertson or Malgin?
Willie Kerfoot and Malgin as a fast but weak third line.
Aube Kubel is probably a lock on 4th line not sure who else.
Stastny would be a nice add but not sure he would interested in Toronto given his location choices to date. Maybe Sonny Milano on a show me deal with JT?
I know still pieces to fall into place but as of now. Oof.

If they want to experiment with MM at centre puttting him with JT would ease him Into it as JT could take draws.
Flip side is you need to keep AM happy.
Yeah, I think Willy takes too long at times holding the puck for Matthews liking (likely Tavares too), whereas Mitch sees plays 99% of NHLers just don't and that is always ideal for finding Matthews whenever he creates the tiny bit of separation he needs to get his shot off/be in scoring position. Anytime play gets scrambly, and the D loses coverage on AM, and the puck is on Mitch's stick you know he's going to find AM.
Now, I don't think playing with Willy would drive Matthews nuts like Kapanen did, but he likely has a clear preference.

Him and JT not working will still significantly out point anything Engvall will do with Nylander
The Jets room as a whole is a mess, I wouldn't touch any player out of that organization.

patches replaces Nino more than anything. That being said they also lost Trochek. Who knows if this changes their position with Necas. I thought they might have been looking to move him but now I’m not sure

Nino Niederreiter is not exactly an exemplar human being himself since we're playing that game.
Seems like Nino and Heinen could be stylistic fits with JT / WN, in a similar complementary way to how Hyman did.

There are only a handful of guys you pay starting at that level. For me, it’s not him.

Lou has made the Islanders an undesirable organization. Not that they were desirable beforehand but now they are unable to attract free agents.
Devon Toews trade easily the worst trade I’ve seen in a long time, and firing Barry Trotz one of the most idiotic things I’ve seen done.

A good part of me woke up wanting to move Nylander and Kerfoot for young talent upcoming(Necas style) and rebuild the 2nd and 3rd lines completely.
It becomes more and more apparent that the 2nd line isn't the dominant force it should be.
Move Nylander, Kerfoot and Holl and theres like 15 million to fill 5 positions.
