I really disagree. $2.75 million is expensive for a capped out team looking to backfill with bargains but it’s the kind of money Roman Polak was making in a similar role half a decade ago. It’s a lower middle class AAV for a bottom pairing job.
You may have a point. From memory, Buffalo's d is still a disaster, and Bush may be a top 4 pairing, maybe even top pairing.
But for us, he was number 6, and made no sense to pay him that amount.
IMHO, he should only be a number 6 on any decent team.

I would have agreed with you at the end of the regular season, but playoff Boosh was completely out of his league.
And whose fault was that?

Boosh is perfect if you need a no.6 physical presence. Boosh isn't to blame the team needed him beside Rielly. 2.75 mil no.6 against Tampas top lines isn't the 2.75 mil guys fault.

2 to slightly under 3 for these types have been going rate for their "pay days" since a decade ago. Even Hal Gill was 2.25 mil at his peak.

He's a bottom pairing D being paid like a low end #4 who wasn't on the PP or PK.

Literally cannot defend and is a one trick pony - who takes himself out of position often trying fort that one trick.

The Leafs defense has the green light to activate and do whatever they want in puck possession all the time so I wouldn’t use positional discipline to kick someone in the ass on the way out the door.

Not the right price point for us but $2.75 million is nothing money.

He'll be given a chance, it's basically a platoon of guys competing for the bottom six last position, or two... Robertson, Anderson, Seney, Gaudette, Clifford, Simmonds, Holmberg, Steeves, all competing for the last few spots... that's ok.
sort of like, every year under Dubas? and let the best man win!!!!

Yeah he’s not our guy at that price but not some outrageous salary. We’re complete cheapskates due to cap.

You don't pay a #6 2.75 mill though.

If you are a bottom pairing guy who can't bring PK value and can maybe only play a dozen minutes, you are making closer to league minimum.

2.75 mill as a pure defensive guy, you can't be a #6 who doesn't PK.
