St. Louis has $625,000 in cap space currently. Tkachuk at $10 mill (probably wants $11+) means Tarasenko and Thomas... that's a lot to lose for them. Maybe Kyrou Tarasenko + pick? Still a lot.

NJD is relatively easy. Plenty of Cap space... maybe send Tatar, and Nemec + Holtz. It's a deal that works pretty well for both teams. I'd say NJD could be the favourite here.

Tarasenko still wants out apparently, so that's an easy choice. I wouldn't give up Kyrou, but it's an option for them. They could also try to unload Krug on another team, albeit pretty difficult. I think Neighbours would have to be included in a deal for Tkachuk

Won't be easy but I think there is a path for the Blues, at least more so than the other teams. I've been waiting for the Devils to make a big move this summer, so this could be it

Damn, seems the Leafs are rarely on the rumoured lists.

It doesn't sound like he wants to play in Canada

If I’m St. Louis, I’m doing everything I can right now to make this trade happen asap.

This team doesn’t need another 10+ million player unless it’s the 2nd coming of Orr/Gretzky.
Everybody wants names all the time.
We already have our “name” players and gotten nowhere.
Instead of another 10-11 million guy, how about 3 guys for that price that can play hard playoff hockey.

Seriously, this team lacks depth not stars. Of course I'd love Tkachuk on this team for Nylander or Tavares but that's just not going to happen.

Anymore? Brian Burke revealed when he worked with sportsnet that roughly 70% of players with NMC have all the canadian teams on their no-trade list
It's gotten worse though. Covid has exacerbated the issue due to restrictions and then all the crap with airports and going over the border. Customs has turned into an even bigger joke - though these guys probably have Nexus but even then it's still not quite as smooth as it used to be. Much less of a headache travelling domestically for most games.

Then there's the whole cost of living, weather, media coverage arguments etc.

after the last few years where we have seen teams trade karlson jones eichel even duchene and others. the one constant is the team that dealt the superstore reaped rewards more then buyer has. so buyers beware

"One source familiar with Tkachuk’s list said that St. Louis, Vegas, Florida, Nashville and Dallas are options. New Jersey and the New York Rangers are also among the other teams that have expressed interest in the past."

I think Blues and Devils make the most sense to me. The others are either in cap hell or don't have the assets
Other than Nashville, the teams Tkachuk is willing to play for all have significant salary and/or movement clause commitments. I guess it will come down to who is willing to waive for Calgary.

This is making me more and more nervous for Matthews leaving. Players are fleeing Canada and I wouldn’t be shocked if it was because of everything related to COVID.

I feel for Flames fans. That f***ing sucks.

To be honest if the next time contracts come up for our big guys and they don't want to sign here. Ship them the f*** out and get as much back as you can.

Calgary is getting gutted right now pretty bad. At least with Tkachuk you can get something back and if he carries this shit on let him sit.
