Ryder is too slow for our team atm, and will take time away from players that deserve top 6 minutes over him. I'd almost rather retain Clowe instead of the type of money Ryder will get

 You do realize that those two statements are pretty opposed to each other, right?

If there were so many question marks, we could absolutely find a spot for Ryder in the lineup. As it is, I think the problem is going to be more one of cap space.

I believe Ryder is a question mark too. And with contracts in place for Callahan and Nash playing the same position as Ryder, I see a conflict ice time wise.

Ryder isn't really a top-6 forward at even strength. He's more of a 5-8 tweener. Plus, he plays both wings decently.

Call me an irrepressible optimist, at least in the off-season, but I really think that our forward group is going to surprise a lot of you.

2nd line RW.. Callahan gets pushed to 3rd line. Kreider and hags on the left don't see the big problem to find a 25 goal scorer a spot

Don't think Sather will sign Ryder when he still needs to fill in spot for LW.

With Richards back, there is no money.

The current situation they find themselves in with Richards coming back. What would yours be with the current cap situation?
You have to figure he's going to ignore your question and just post about how this team has no real direction or vision

The Bruins have publicly declared their interest in Alfredsson, however, safe to say...other teams are calling as well. This one is tricky.

Then Ryder should be a big target if he can play LW. But with what cap space?

I am with you Tawnos. I absolutely would not consider our forwards dreadful. They are pretty damn good.

I'll let the 'sky is falling' group have their stay for now.

Neither should he. We need to believe in what we've got. What we add should be top talent or role players in bottom 6. Ryder has got Kolarik#2 written all over him.

Pretty damn good is pushing it. They are average to below-average. Elite in defense and goaltending.

You mean Kotalik? Oh yeah, I can see the resemblances. Both were PP specialist type players, but Kotalik's game just fell off a cliff when he couldn't produce after 1 good month on the PP.

Agreed. Especially if Brassard can keep it up and Kreider can carry over his play from the playoffs.

Hagelin, Stepan, Callahan, Nash, Kreider, and Brassard are average to above average. Richards gets it together and they are in good shape. Let's see them in a new system before we label what they are and are not though.

I thought you were going to let them have their say ;)

Kreider is the one I'm not sure should be in that group, yet, but yeah otherwise we're on the same page.

We all love Kreider but he's proven nothing yet, we relied on him being a fixture in the top 6 last year and look what happened

I read today where Sather said he has free agent options but doesn't want to block the kids. What kids is he talking about? It is assumed Kreider and Hagelin have spots on the team. That leaves Miller, Fasth, and Lindberg. Can someone tell me what type of players those 3 are projected to be. Thanks

Ha yes Tawnos I will let them have their stay and say how we need to do x, y, and z, turning over the roster again because what we have is just not enough based on what their expertise tells them.

I agree on Kreider.

Hagelin, Callahan, Brassard, Kreider and Richards are big question marks going into next season. The first two is because they're coming off of severe injuries, Brassard because he will need to continue improving from his good Ranger stint and finally, Kreider and Richards need to do complete 180s because they was absolutely god awful last year. I don't think Stepan should be listed in the category with average to above average, he's already proven that he was the team's most complete player last season. Just too many question marks for me to put it in the 'pretty damn good' category.

That's not even starting on the horrendous bottom 6 forwards, which seemingly get ignored. Might be the worst bottom 6 in the league.

I dont know. Im quite horrified with any combination of lines with the current roster. Reaches all over the place.
