RD market seems scarce. Even though he can play RD, even getting Chychrun and playing him at LD isn't too bad in my opinion (depending on cost ofc). We aren't top level contenders next year, we will be much better, but we could run:
Chabot-Zub
Chychrun-Holden
Sanderson-Hamonic

LD is stacked - reduces Chabot's high minutes of recent years, insulates Sanderson for at least the start of the season. If a top level RD comes on the market in the next 12-24 months, we could even use Chychrun as a 1 for 1 swap or close to.

This is why acquiring Hamonic was a shrewd idea vs all the negative Critism Dorion took.

I don’t think he has any sources just kinda throws stuff up against the wall and hope it sticks “the streets “are really just smart educated guesses - He had Murray to Edmonton because insiders first hinted at it.

Just my IMO anyways.

He had the Bowness hire before anyone iirc. Although granted, he said Rick and not Ryan. Still, that's so random I think he has to have an inside source

Sure, and getting a snickers bar when you're hungry and going for a walk in the park with no concessions is also a shrewd move. Doesn't mean paying $3 when they are charging me $1.75 is a good idea

Dallas fans say his play has fallen off a cliff. They say he doesn't defend and he plays with absolutely no sense of urgency. I'd rather stand pat than make a huge mistake with this guy.
I watched a bunch of Dallas last year as I always played their top line in bets and DFS lineups. I am not sure how they can single out Klingberg as falling off a cliff. Defensively the entire team fell off a cliff especially that second line with Benn and Seguin. Also anytime Gurianov was out there Dallas was stuck chasing in their own zone. I mean Dallas fans would have a better idea watching 82 games I am just not sold that the entire implosion of the team is Klingbergs fault.

Isn't that just like when you buy something for $4.50 giving them a fiver and saying keep the change like a boss just because you don't really want to carry two quarters in your pockets for the rest of the day?

People continue to mischaracterize the criticism of this trade.

Vancouver wanted the contract gone. Dorion did them a favor and paid them a pick on top.

That remains true regardless of how well Hamonic does.

Setting up the idea that Dorion doesn't know what he's doing, which in turn made Chicago think that there's no possible way that Dorion is winning a deal because he never does.

It's a very subtle psychological operation that has been going on for years.

Naa… snickers bars are available everywhere - Hamonic was the 10-15th rated RD and available.
