No clue. But it doesn’t seem like the move from Brown was for budgetary reasons. They don’t have to pay anything between now and when they start playing. It makes more sense if it was done with the intention to flip the asset.

PD doesn’t want to be left with options D-Z.
So we have to assume he’s pretty active on the phones right now. A B C being chychrun Marino klingberg

very small sample size and limited experience

I would still bring in a vet as insurance if those guys struggle.
Kastelic was over 60% in the AHL I believe. You can always send out Giroux for a key faceoff he’s one of the best in the league.

Yeah, I'm thinking more long term than short term. We can manage for next season, Idk what happens after that .
Nice thing about Klingberg is no assets required. We can use a pick or two to get rid of Zaitsev.
Adding Marino or Weegar or another more lower cost top 4 capable D will cost us assets .They are valuable.

The Hawks could take Zaitsev for a 2nd.

The fact that Klingberg is a RD and is still available scares me. That is a position that GMs go stupid for, see Gudbranson Eric

Dorion wake up my man! Getting DeBrincat and Giroux won't mean a thing if you do not replace Zaitsev with another top 4 D-man!
Pierre Dorion at the press conference announcing we will be replacing Zaitsev with Zaitsev

Man Dorion is killing it. You guys are definitely going to make some noise this year!

What is the lineup looking like? Thoughts on the goaltending situation?
Cautiously optimistic for once. 2 hard working, veteran goalies that will not create any drama (we assume). Both over .900 last year, which is something we've really looked for lately.

Forward lines are done for the most part:

Tkatchuk - Norris - Batherson
Debrincat - Stutzle - Giroux
Formenton - Pinto - Jospeph

D is a HUGE concern

Chabot - Zub
Sanderson - XXXX
Holden - Hamonic
Brannstrom

Zaitsev should be moved hopefully

Forsberg
Talbot

Man that looks good given what it was a couple seasons ago. Even just a couple weeks ago. I haven't followed the whole Brannstrom journey but is there still hope he develops?

Seems to be a polarizing player around these parts, but I think most of us haven't given up on him yet. Definitely running out of time to show he can put it all together, though.

will shine in a 3rd pairing role this year. hes been our go to whenever theres been an injury to Chabot and has survived in a top pairing role 5v5 and on PP.
