Where do you see that Eric is better than Jones? Look at his stats. He hasn't done anything yet. I would have traded Jones + at the draft for a 2nd but since we are willing to give him a chance, let's see how this plays out. If I was to trade Laf + for a D from Ottawa, I would take aim at Jake Sanderson. That would fix our D and then some. I'm not sure Ottawa would go for it. Laf would satisfy the Francophone crowd in Ottawa.

Teams need to improve what they are bad at. Teams need to recognize why they failed. This signing is evidence of neither

They still need a 2nd/3rd line RW and he still scores at a 60 point pace. It's not going to be a perfect scenario given the cap constraints. If he can pot 20 and score 55-60 points for approx 1 mil then it's a good deal. Last year they had Goodrow and Vesey playing top 6 minutes for much of the year. I don't want to see that again.

This is where I stand on this too. I really don’t like how his goal scoring is cratering, but at minimum hard to complain
