I get the idea of Wheeler, but it's really a toss up, do you go get an old guy who likely wears down by end of season or playoffs but maybe looks good for the first 40? Or do you get a less skilled, harder to play against young plug instead? I just think we continue to have too many top 9 options and no 3rd line. I think we need to identify the right mix for our top 6 going forward. Guys who can play with each other and for a bunch of years and then move the other top 6 guys for draft capital and better fits for the roster. We need to stop playing EA and start making a team where our forward lines have very clear roles.

Please no on Wheeler to the Rangers.

Don't need another washed up aging vet that will take away minutes on the PP from the kids.
I don’t think PP is a problem since he isn’t a bumper guy, but what Wheeler brings isn’t what this forward roster is short on, so I don’t really want him.

Get me some Jayson Chimera types. Speed and forechecking

Wheeler is a risk. Maybe being in one place too long was the problem in Wpg but as mentioned, he could be a good support role guy

Tarasenko is a lot better. Tarasenko still scores goals. Wheeler doesn’t score goals anymore
Maybe but Tank scored 18 goals last year and will cost a lot more. Wheeler on a cheap contract is not a bad way to goal. Basically a 60 point player for 1 Mil? I'll take it.

I think it’s something that they should consider. Think it could help fix the D issues. A deal with him for a guy like Brannstrom (not necessarily 1 for 1) kind of works in my head?
Are you serious? Wow. I think Laf is worth much more than Brannstrom + and Brannstrom won't fix our D issues. We already have our own Brannstrom, his name is Zach Jones and we don't have to trade Laf for him. Given a chance with more playing time and PP opportunities I think Laf will be fine. I would trade Panarin sooner to make room for Laf before trading him. He is not a bust. I don't why people are so eager to give Laf away for somebody else's shinny new penny.

If Wheeler puts up 50 points for 1M ish (if it happens) how is it bad? Isn’t that kind of player what you want for the playoffs? Size, hits, dirty areas, etc?

If we had a lot of cap there’s other options but we don’t lol

He doesn’t help anything the Rangers are bad at. He’s another guy that doesn’t shoot and can’t skate.

Teams need to improve what they are bad at. Teams need to recognize why they failed. This signing is evidence of neither

well then tell us where is this player ?

It’s 12:20. Why haven’t the Rangers announced they signed Quick and Wheeler for a combined $4M yet.

Brannstrom is a lot better than Zac Jones. He has a much higher ceiling. He’s been developed like garbage.
