They didn't qualify Sprong because they didn't want him to go to arbitration. You can only walk away if the salary is >4.5M, which he wouldn't get, so they wouldn't be able to do that. They have cap space but on CF they only show a 14 man roster and Vince Dunn will take up a large chunk of the remaining space.

As long as we don’t into contract limits I agree. Let everyone play in preseason and keep the best performers on the NHL roster.
