which of the known free agent contracts would you have supported McPhee matching and/or adding a year to?
laich cannot hold richards' jock, in just about every facet of the game.
Weiss, Roy, MacArthur, Briere, whatever Grabovski and Lydman get, Galiardi and Setoguchi trades, Khudobin/Bachmann/Greiss instead of our 2.5 million dollar benchwarmer. Possibly some others that could work in some ways.
But I suppose if we do anything that precludes Brooks Laich being our 2C and John Erskine being our 2LD we may end up too much like the Flyers and people might point and laugh.
anybody care to wade in the pool on that comment?
@SkyKerstein #Caps GMGM on what he's evaluating with Wilson in camp "I don't know if that we're evaluating him as much on the ice as we are off the ice"
That one struck me as odd, too. Do they see potential off-ice issues with Wilson?

Maybe he expressed a desire to win a Stanley Cup.
Sweet. Strike up the Wilson for garbage trade engine!

You guys got a good one in David Leggio.
Probably just means they are looking for the maturity that is needed in any player playing succesfully in the nhl. I think he has it and will play at least 40 games next season.
I almost said i'm really looking forward to it but I guess that would be a controversial statement on this board.
Really hoping for a Grabovski signing.
He said the term wasn't right for any. So Roy at 1 year was too many years?

you quoted my question. didn't answer it though. which of the contracts would you have congratulated McPhee for getting done? roy? Clarkson? ribeiro?
My first thought was off-ice conditioning/workouts.
Re:Laich as a 2nd line center. Not fan of that. Laich's not a great passer and Brouwer isn't either.

World class agitator still that McPhee. Bra-****ing-vo.
I took it to mean they were already sold on his play. I doubt he would have made the comment if that's what it meant. Admittedly based on following his tweeter, I'm extremely encouraged by what I've seen of Wilson's "character." He seems like a pretty smart kid who's likely to have the right attitude towards self-development and so on.ChibiPooky said:That one struck me as odd, too.
