@SkyKerstein #Caps GMGM "If you're consistently going to the free-agent market every summer to build your team...

@SkyKerstein ...then there's something wrong with your team or your organization, because that's not the way to develop a team."

Really? Detroit, Boston say hi.

@BMcNally14 So... George McPhee basically just went all "My team is on the floor" there. No 2nd line center OR lefty defenseman? A bit surprised

@SkyKerstein #Caps GMGM on what he's evaluating with Wilson in camp "I don't know if that we're evaluating him as much on the ice as we are off the ice"

@KCarrera McPhee said "we don't see any real difference in terms of ability to play" between Laich and Fisher (NSH), Richards (LA) or Backes (STL).

That's a gem. I wonder if GMGM would sign Laich if he was a free agent from another team...

Well at least that's some 200 hours freed up next year to put towards more productive things. Thank god McPhee knows how to properly build a team, his teams certainly show it year in and year out.

Only shame is that Ovie has to waste his best years on his trainwreck. Wonder what kind of hardware he'd be able to get with an organization that hasn't officially thrown in the towel. Hopefully for the sake of people who don't like throwing good hockey after bad he asks for a trade sooner than later.

which of the known free agent contracts would you have supported McPhee matching and/or adding a year to?

He said the term wasn't right for any. So Roy at 1 year was too many years?

World class agitator still that McPhee. Bra-****ing-vo.

I'd love to know what Oates really thinks.
