I wonder if Brock Boeser RW will hit the open market & what the Sens could do to entice him to Ott? My guess is that he will stay in Van or go down south to play for the highest bidder. He would be a very interesting Trade Deadline acquisition although Van will likely be a playoff team & be a buyer rather than trade anyone off there roster especially him.

We can’t afford to overpay for anyone at this point.

Tough to compete IMO with the low tax states.

I imagine we’d look for another Tarasenko / Perron type who is past his prime but is affordable and may want to play here.

I've been toying with the idea of Pinto with Tkachuk & Stu.

1: Tkachuk - Stu - Pinto
2: Giroux- Norris - Batherson
3: Perron - Greig - Amadio
4: Gregor - Gaudette - Cousins/MacEwen
Ex: Cousins/Macewen

1: Sanderson - Zub
2: Chabot - Jensen
3: Kleven - JBD/Hamo
Ex: JBD/Hamo

1: Ullmark
2: Forsberg
Pinto is a right handed centre. He is made to play in the middle, moving him to wing would be awful IMO.

I'd love to sign him in the offseason, but money may be tight if we're also re-signing Giroux.

if Greig or Perron cant fit with the top line then we do need a winger. We have good forward depth but that is a piece that is missing

Tkachuk-Stutzle-Greig/Perron
Giroux-Norris-Batherson
Greig/Perron-Pinto-Amadio
Cousins-Gaudette-Gregor/Macewen

after deadline if we are in a playoff position
Tkachuk-Stutzle-X
Giroux-Norris-Batherson
Perron-Pinto-Greig
Cousins-Gaudette-Amadio
Gregor/Macewen

targets (making cap work is going to be interesting): Hall, Palmieri, Mantha, Kuzmenko, Granlund

I don’t think we should be spending the assets for a big ticket addition like this unless maybe it’s the perfect fit.

Boeser will cost 1st+. We need our picks to ensure we have a wave of young guys coming up to provide cap flexibility in the future.

I don’t particularly like the fit either. I think we need more workers and physicality and our PP is doing fine with our shooters.

Agreed. We don't seem to be having too much trouble scoring goals. Perron coming back should provide a little secondary scoring too.

If we're contenders at the deadline we need to bolster the third pair D. I know people have been rosy about them but I think they're our biggest weakness. A veteran, preferably who could play both sides in a pinch would be my target.

may not seem like it but giroux is a ppg right now. Even if he ends up with 60 points like last year he is going to be getting 4.5-5 million per year minimum imo
And he was really poor in the final 30 games last year. He'll be 37 in January so I wouldn't be giving him a $5 million dollar deal.

im not giving him more than 2 years

and unless the drop off repeats itself its hard to use that against a player who's body of work is there

now if he wants 3-4 years then yes the cap hit is going be lowered, if he ends up with 50 points the cap hit is going to be lowered but unless those things happen its hard to do so
