We neeed to find another d man.

Need a guy who is comfortable on both sides
Results aside, we just had two of the best games I've seen this team play since the rebuild started all the while missing Zub, Pinto and Perron. Injuries will happen, the difference between this year and previous years is we don't seem to be falling apart from them

The wild thing is while it's easy enough to fit Zub back in when he's healthy, I'm legitimately struggling to figure out who comes out when Perron and Pinto are back. Ostapchuk has fit in really well, Gaudette has been providing great secondary scoring, even MacEwen has been good.

Yeah ostapchuk has played well but plan was for another year in Belleville so he’s out.

Perron started slow. But I still think macewen comes out for him.

We’re playing well. But like everything. Always need to get to that next step.

Gaudette is offering primary scoring haha. Maybe trying him on that first line isn’t the worst idea
Are sens missing a shooter?

I think the immediate issue is Hamonic is way out of his depth playing "1st" pair with Sanderson - and it shows in Sanderson's effectiveness. Regrettably, there are no RD in Belleville that are waiver exempt and I'd hazard a guess that one of Mantipalo or Guenette will be the 7th D next year, and Yakemchuk will be allowed a season in the AHL. Zub in, Hamonic out simply cannot happen soon enough, imo.

Once Perron and Pinto come back, it has to be Ostaptchuk out and back to Belleville, and MacEwan/Cousins/Gregor(?) splitting time, I think. I see Gregor - Gaudette - MacEwan being the better option on the 4th line once both are back.

Might be some minor league deals to be had, but Staios doesn't have a whole lot of capital to bargain with if the goal is improving the current roster (assuming which ever 1st round pick he doesn't surrender - still completely fu@%ing ridiculous!! - is off the table).

Yeah, Ostapchuk and MacEwen out are probably the ones they'll go with, but I guess the point is they aren't making it easy, which is a huge improvement over previous years.

Can players in the KHL or European leagues still be signed and play this season?

I'm surprised you didn't throw a "trade Greig" in there as a possible solution

Perron still has the best CF% on the team.

Gaudette won't be going back on waivers .. I think that is safe to say. He could get moved to RW with 7 and 18.

maybe give this a try... that 4th line and bottom 6 is PFG and they can move guys around and in and out

edit: Forgot about 21 .. so I will fix; Ostapchuk heads back.

The original question was - at the end of the year, if one of Halliday, Ostaptchuk, Greig have progressed and can fill the 3C would you deal Pinto? If you think that's dumb, okay, you're entitled to your opinion. But this is a discussion board...

Reason I brought it up was the recent interview with Conroy where he expressed the desire for a young centre that plays a 200ft game, and how he doesn't expect it to be easy, or cheap, to find one. With Norris back and looking good, the Sens may have depth at centre next year beyond Pinto.
But Pinto's a right shot, they're hard to find. The other players you mentioned can always be put on the wing or one of them can be traded to fill other holes.

Looks like signed Perron was unnecessary

Osta -Gaudette -MacEwen for last two spots ,

And Perrons 4 million for RHD :( , but anyway we have good depth

I've been toying with the idea of Pinto with Tkachuk & Stu.

1: Tkachuk - Stu - Pinto
2: Giroux- Norris - Batherson
3: Perron - Greig - Amadio
4: Gregor - Gaudette - Cousins/MacEwen
Ex: Cousins/Macewen

1: Sanderson - Zub
2: Chabot - Jensen
3: Kleven - JBD/Hamo
Ex: JBD/Hamo

1: Ullmark
2: Forsberg

Around the bend
He does a lot of good things ; just not putting up points; Same with Greig; Same with Perron when he was playing. No Ottawa Senator coach would sit Amadio for MacKewen.

Might be Cousins who would sit at this point. Likely Ostapchuk back to Belleville, then Cousins or Mac would be next in line to be the 13th forward.

I disagree with that. He's been solid imo. Miscast on the 1st line for sure though.

Wouldn't mind seeing Gaudette up on first line RW. It's a spot that needs to be filled by someone with some offense. Stutzle and Brady could use a guy who can shoot, gets to the net, has speed, and some offensive instincts. Can take Right side faceoffs as well.
