people keying in on Karlsson but that Pens team is terrible. Way to old for some of those guys to be carrying the team and zero talented depth.

Karlsson would be fine on a better team. His cap hit is just to high
Ya, when I watch that team, I don't see anyone special left other than Crosby. It is just not a good team anymore and nobody should expect much out of them in general.

Hard to imagine Karlsson is very motivated, he knows the team he is on is crap.

He is also nowhere near as good as he used to be unfortunately, that 2017 run probably sealed his fate in terms of performance.

Both Karlsson and Zibanejad have been mailing it in for awhile

Don't envy having those contracts on the books. Lesson there about the risk of long-term contracts for players entering their 30s.

too many people equate Brady and Matthew as the same.

lots over here even prefer Brady to Matthew. wack
I prefer Brady to Matthew any day. MTkachuk is actively a dirty player and if Brady turns into him I'd go from critical to hater. BTkachuk might take undisciplined penalties, but he doesn't proactively do slimy stuff and then not answer the call (unlike his brother).

Matthew Tkachuk is an actual franchise forward that can carry his line and team.

In terms of who is the better player its not close.

It’s close, they are different but they both bring a ton. It’s tough to argue until Brady makes the playoffs unfortunately

no dude its not close.

Brady is faster, more physical that's about it.

Matthew's IQ is on a different level compared to Brady. If a player is much better offensively and much better defensively. it's not close.

Other than Matthew’s outlier season Brady compare’s favourably offensively.

wasn't only 2 years in a row Matthew put up 109 points when his next closest teammate had 78.

Like sketchy to say that Brady get 100 points but he's sure as hell not gonna get 100 by out scoring his closest teammate by 30.

To be fair, Barkov was pacing at 94, and they had 3 other players at ~70 pts (including a D). That wasn't a low scoring team where he was on an island by himself, he had more scoring support there than in Cgy the year before, where only two other players had more than 55 pts.

It was still a very good season by him, but I can see why GCK might have thought of it as an outlier.

As for Brady, he's led the team 4 out of 7 seasons, something Matt's only done twice in his 9 year career. I don't think Brady is as good offensively as Matt, but the gap is narrowing.

I’m not a fan but yeah guys been good. Him and kleven seem to have legit chemistry
I find they're both prone to bad turnovers and getting hemmed in but we've seen worse. I'd just like them both to develop and improve instead of the recent trend with our d-men where they stagnate or get worse.

Fun watching Kleven after the 2nd period thinking he was Tyler Karl-ven last night, he wanted to dipsy doodle with the puck and be free. Fun to watch but he’s not a puck mover. But nice to see him believe he could be a version of Erik Karlsson even if for 1 pass

He’s got some juice for sure. The difference in his game with jbd and hamonic is massive. He was scrambling around with Hamonic. With jbd he looks calm and willing to take at least some calculated risk

Travis Green and the coaches need to work with the D on what to do when hemmed in. Too many soft pucks up the middle getting turned over.

The D need to be stronger and rip pucks off the glass and out. I remember Chris Phillips being so smooth with this: he could back hand pucks off the glass high in the air out to neutral zone safety. Get on this Travis!
