LTIR doesn’t accrue any cap space, only way would be if LTIR for the rest of the year.

Trade Deadline:
Ottawa should be looking for someone who can fit a need, doesn't cost much, has experience & he can take the punishment of playoff hockey. I doubt they can afford someone expensive & we certainly should not be giving away a 1st or 2nd rd pick.

Nick Bjugstad C/RW - UFA - makes $2.1 mil. affordable (likely under $1 mil) experienced, is in his last yr & can play C or RW. He's 6'5", 205 lbs, former 1st rd pick & 32 yrs old & could be re-signed cheaply for a yr to give Halliday more time to ease him into the lineup. He only has 12 pts right now, but last yr had 45 pts in 76 games (22 goals & 23 assists). He brings size, he brings scoring, he brings experience, he can be moved up & down the lineup & he can play two positions where Ott needs more depth C & RW.

It would be nice if we acquired a piece that we thought we might be a good long-term fit, because we aren't the most successful UFA destination, but we usually do okay with convincing players to stay once they are here.

If the cap does indeed go up to 97M+, we will have about 18M with 9 spots to fill and Giroux as our only significant free agent. I wouldn't say that is a lot of cap flexibility, but it is more than expected when the cap was projected to be in the low 90s. We might be able to make something work if we acquire a solid middle 6 forward or a #4-5 type D and they want to stay.

add 2 million for injuries or TDL deal, it’s still should be listed as 92.5 million, unless there is a agreement to go higher ( which may or may not happen).
There is not a lot of flexibility until maybe the year after, but that was known when Andlauer bought team, that cap would be tight.

We need a LW to play with Stutzle and a LD for depth. Then I'd look to move Forsberg in a deal for a cheaper NHL backup in return so we can use the cap difference. Someone like Reimer who is making 1M.

15 games before trade deadline, if team will be good position in top 8, we should be add something good for our offensive game, because team need it, Gaudette will not be solution for top 6 in playoffs,

I think we need cap space, draft picks and prospects to make anything happen at the trade deadline. We don't have any of that. I like how everybody thinks we can add. It's cute. We could of had those things, but the guy on the radio in Hull fckd it all up. We got a ways to go.

Nelson 6 mil
Granlund 5 mil
Tanev 3.5

I wonder how much Grandlund, Palmieri and Nelson will cost in FA. The minimum aav would be what Perron got, but each of these guys are younger so they might get 3-4 years.
