Proposal: - Free agency edition Trade Rumours/Proposals [MOD - Stay on Topic] 5 | Page 739 | HFBoards - NHL Message Board and Forum for National Hockey League
  • Xenforo Cloud upgraded our forum to XenForo version 2.3.4. This update has created styling issues to our current templates, this is just a temporary look. We will continue to work on clearing up these issues for the next few days and restore the site to it's more familiar look, but please report any other issues you may experience so we can look into. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Proposal: Free agency edition Trade Rumours/Proposals [MOD - Stay on Topic] 5

The site becomes more ugly after every breaking upgrade.

How can they FUP an upgrade so often?
Seems like the posts are much narrower than they used to be. It seems like I can't spread posts across the entire width of my display anymore.

Not sure what to make of this new version but at first glance not seeing the improvements at least from a end user functional and user interface point of view. Maybe when they fix some things this impression could change.

I give this site upgrade the same amount of respect I give the Montreal Canadiens

Functionally I’m sure the site is much better, but visually the updates are always downgrades.

On topic - if we bring someone in, I hope it’s a depth D. Forwards and in net were in good shape when everyone is healthy (well Forsberg stinks but I think we’re stuck with him for this year). Don’t love JBD or Hamonic on the back end but they’re whatever for now. Would prefer to have someone else in that spot thought, and even when healthy we need depth in that position IMO.

We don’t have the assets to go shopping for anything decent because of PD leaving the cupboards so empty.

EDIT - Forum is changing colors, I have hope.

Much better now. Felt like we were taken over by Leafs colors.

Edit: Nvm, grey/red lasted for like one page load only, back to Leafs colors.

Not sure this helps, but hopefully it does. I filled in some of the void roster slots and came up with a $93.8 m, 22-player roster. Retained & buyout salaries were included (& were missing in your post).

Some players are in a different position versus your post. But, as long as they are identified & included in the roster spreadsheet somewhere, that’s what is most important for this exercise.

Orange shaded cells = a placeholder (TBD) or a current player with a new contract

Blue shaded cells = a RFA with his new contract

Yellow shaded cells - an ELC with a new contract

I think this spreadsheet is already quite optimistic because it includes a 2nd line winger @ $3.5 m, and Giroux for $3.5 m. I’d guess Giroux at $3.5 m would mean carry over bonuses for the following year.

Pinto is on his 3rd contract and is a much better player. I’d give Greig a 2 year deal at 1.5M year 1 and 2.5M year 2 for a 2M AAV.
I estimated Grieg’s new contract at $3 m/yr. It definitely wasn’t $2 m/yr and I was a little low at $3 m.
