My guess is that Brannstrom will be back in Europe as soon as this contract is over, never to be heard from again. Where's Balcers?
Pretty safe bet imo. It's either this or carve out an AHL career with maybe the odd spot duty in the NHL.My guess is that Brannstrom will be back in Europe as soon as this contract is over, never to be heard from again. Where's Balcers?
Imagine Proudest Day as a GM Guy traded a near point per game Cup winner for a guy ultimately dumped twice preseason, destined for Europe or the AHL.....and Proud boy somehow got another job in hockey. My guess is that Brannstrom will be back in Europe as soon as this contract is over, never to be heard from again. Almost impossible to imagine if I didn’t see it myself. UnfortunatelyImagine Proudest Day as a GM Guy traded a near point per game Cup winner for a guy ultimately dumped twice preseason, destined for Europe or the AHL.....and Proud boy somehow got another job in hockey.
Most knew he was always out to lunch while a small minority seemed to believe it was all the work of a mad genius that would all pay off down the line. I'm glad we don't have to live in fantasy land here anymore as if the last regime wasn't a total joke.Imagine Proudest Day as a GM Guy traded a near point per game Cup winner for a guy ultimately dumped twice preseason, destined for Europe or the AHL.....and Proud boy somehow got another job in hockey.
brannstrom had a bad camp and its own fault.
but he played top 4 minutes for us and did it admiringly. often times looking better than an 8 million dollar chabot. and everyone who played with brannstrom also played better.
i really hope when injuries hit our injury prone d corp we have someone who was as effective as brannstrom was in that role. because that could be the difference between playoffs or not.
right now we have jbd, hamonic, and a rookie kleven which is awful insulation.
What job!?Almost impossible to imagine if I didn’t see it myself. Unfortunately
What the heck were you watching last year?brannstrom had a bad camp and its own fault.

He is not 0 value; however, he definitely is not highly valued (i.e., worth picking up off waivers (would have to added to roster) nor traded for at this time).Actually this is the very definition of 0 value. The sens couldn't get anything for him last year. Then they didn't qualify him, then every team in the league has a chance to sign him. One team did for league minimum he got cut didn't make that team was traded for cap space then waived and no one else wanted him. But yeah sure he has value. Lol.
He carries 0 acquisition value would be a better way to put it imoHe is not 0 value; however, he definitely is not highly valued (i.e., worth picking up off waivers (would have to added to roster) nor traded for at this time).
Not to mention the $2M he made in his last season with the Senators. He probably has made more $$$ in his short career than any of us posters have made to date.Playing in the Swiss league with Zurich alongside former Senator Derek Grant and Leafs legend Denny Malgin. They won the league championship last season.
Brannstrom would be an excellent add for them.
And let’s no feel sorry for Branny. In Europe he’ll make a few hundred grand per year, get to live in a beautiful city, and only have to play a couple times per week. It’s a great life!
96.5 Gatineau. LolThere is no bigger weasel out there than this guy.
What the heck were you watching last year?

check out that zub-brannstrom pairing playing top 4 when chabot went down.
look at the brannstrom-holden pairing.
its the same thing for the last couple of years.
brannstrom was one of our best depth players, and when he had to step up, he did it successfully.
He's clearly not worth it. 31 teams passed on him. The sooner this board comes to grips with it the better. He is not 0 value; however, he definitely is not highly valued (i.e., worth picking up off waivers (would have to added to roster) nor traded for at this time).
Best depth player on a bad team that no one else wants. Now he's in the AHL. Good teams don't have players like him.View attachment 913651
