Proposal: Free agency edition Trade Rumours/Proposals - 2025/26 Part II

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
I wonder if we plan to use Eklund on PP1 or we’re trying to acquire someone else that would play there.

This is what every team would have to offer to match that Seattle 15M offer according to JockTaxes (again, no clue how accurate this calculator is)

Robertson would be great, but that’s a lot of cap for a team who’s trying to build a team with depth throughout the lineup. Even if he was willing to come here, it might make re signing upcoming players and making moves tough. Still would though.

Staios, tick tock my dude. Make something happen

On the other hand, he's definitely the type of player that deserves to be your highest paid player. He's that's good.

When you factor in the backup goalie, Spence contract/some other RD, Giroux and that the Sens will probably leave ~5M of cap space I feel like we are gonna be looking at a 5-6M forward tops.

I really don’t think they are signing Spence. He’s not long for this team.

There are just so few RDs available. I don’t believe they want Risto that badly with his injuries and needing a new contract. Whitecloud would make a ton of sense but if not him they might not have a choice.

Robertson will strong arm his way into one of the usual suspects

Maybe. It could also be the contract offer he got was say $14M and he's thinking why am I not getting $17M like Kaprisov?

But if that's the ask and you're the Ottawa Senators.... even if he was willing to come here at $17M or $18M you just don't. That's nuts. I like him alot but this isn't Auston Matthews where you think a change of environment gets him back to 60 goals or Connor McDavid or an offer sheet on Celebrini.
