Calgary might decide to hit the reset button if they are losing Gaudreau. Would absolutely be calling on Lindholm and Backlund. Both very good short term solutions.

Would rather have Trocheck than Kadri but don’t really want either. Can’t see how the Rangers could afford them. Guess we will see tomorrow

I really hope Sam Steel and Colin White are on Drury’s young NHL list. Steel at 24 and White at 25 being a MA kid couldn’t hurt and both being centers and would not cost much in terms of their cap hit. these would be 2 great under the radar type of moves for tomorrow and the future.

But these two are not going to be 2Cs on this team. Neither play a game that is proper for the 4C role or even 3C role.

We are no longer in the sign reclamation projects part of this rebuild/build

They're going to blow it up up Tkachuk wants out too. This year was their chance.

Have some dignity. Begging for Malkin? Forget that there's way better options available. Been watching this team for 30 years and Malkin is top 5 biggest shitbags I've ever seen play against the Rangers.

Brodeur

Stevens

Malkin

Crosby

Ovechkin

For 16 years this dirtbag has been dragging his lower lip across MSG ice and slew footing players left and right. F that guy. I don't care if Pittsburgh made diarrhea in his coffee, I have no sympathy or empathy for that guy. I wouldn't cross the street to piss on him if he was on fire.

Also, he's a little bitch that loses his composure every time something doesn't go his way. We really want a player like that?
…add John MacLean and Donald Brashier.

If it were that simple I would be all over Lindholm, but I doubt they go full rebuild. They still have a solid team and good goalie

With Malkin signing in Pittsburgh …

They are out on hometown boy Trochek and…

Vinnie goes to the top of Drury’s list

(I’m real good with that)

Trocheck is a bit of a forgotten man on the market. I’d love to get him on a 5 x 5 deal.

Trochek on a fair deal could work out. Still hope we call Florida about Bennet. Imo a trade is our best option outside of Trochek which depends on what he’d take

PLD makes me nervous. Very flighty.

I don't see how Trochek is a different case than Copp and Strome. Is he aiming at less than 5.5 over 6 or 7?

Personally, I've never loved the player tbh. He's definitely got wheels which we lack, but he doesn't have the cleanest bill of health and he definitely peaked pretty early in his career. I have my doubts about him in the long run.

I don't see why Trocheck would be looking for less than copp and Strome

I don't remember him standing out much in the Carolina series. From what I remember he was kinda meh.

Whats Trochek's market? Back to Carolina or a middling/bottom feeder seem like the only options for him outside of the NYR. I guess Carolina has the ability to offer him dollars that we just can't (same goes for Kadri, though perhaps hes more willing to play for a bad team.)

I agree that he (Trochek) is a bit more of the same. Between him and Kadri all things equal, I take Kadri every time. Probably more AAV, but definitely less term.

Damn well there goes the Eugene dream. Moving on to Patty Kane.

Kane and Kadri are both Rangers tomorrow via my scenario of ultimate cap f***ery.

It's gonna be wild.

To be fair, to someone like PLD, NYC is probably a much better living situation than Winnipeg or Columbus. It also helps that the team is more competitive as well. I don’t think we’d lose him, but there is a chance he bolts for home.

This would be the 2nd time that he would be forcing his way off a team though. Remember he pushed himself to Winnipeg to begin with.

I really don't want any part of PLD. Being 2 years away from UFA and heavy rumors that he wants to go home to play for the Habs just makes it seem like a bad idea. I don't want to add people who are looking for a way out the second things get a bit difficult.

pass beniers looks 40.
Meh, teenage hormones.

These are established NHL players. They'd both be inexpensive and could play up to potentially 3rd line.

Also both players didn't really play around talent. Younger centers were ahead of the depth charts (Zegras and Lundestrom, Norris and Stutzle). Ottawa's and Anaheims 3rd lines don't have the talent this team would have.

We're at the stage of the build where we need some players around 24-26 added to see if they fit. If it fails, you've got the deadline like this season.
