What did you seriously think he was gonna get? Copp got the same amount (2 less years) with one 30+ point year. Strome reportedly is asking for the same amount. He was never going to sign for under 5M. The deal seems perfectly fine and hopefully is structured in such a way if they need to/want to get out of it in the last couple of years they can do so easily.

I think all these gms are ignoring the term. They don’t care about 5 years from now. The cap is too hard. All they care about is trying to win and keeping the AAV down to fit everyone. It’s the worst cap in all North American major sports. Joke.
