Things are going just fine out in Nassau
Motte is a 4th liner, he should be paid accordinglyMotte is a victim of poor timing. The cap crunch has saturated the market with unqualified young players with more upside. His best bet at this point is probably signing a 2-year deal on the cheap to get out from under the flat cap, and then trying to get his big deal. That's probably a pill he's not ready to swallow quite yet, though.
Laf is getting that top line spot. Krav will start on the 3rd line and will battle Kakko for line 2My lineup. Kravtsov sliding into the Buch spot is a no brainer. Blais is a more talented Hunt for the Panarin line. Kids dominate against other team’s third lines. Even strength ice time evenly distributed amongst the top nine with the fourth line getting minimal minutes.
View attachment 569139Robertson, Jones, Schneider rotate on the third defense pairing. Likely trade for a vet depth defenseman at the deadline.
To be fair, if any team suggested they might significantly overpay for fourth liners, he came to the right place.Motte is a 4th liner, he should be paid accordingly
Probably. But I really love that kid line and salivate at the thought of them feasting on lesser competition. I also would prefer to not play Laf out of position, and Kravtsov/Buch just makes too much sense.Laf is getting that top line spot. Krav will start on the 3rd line and will battle Kakko for line 2
The right wall was Panarin's for most of the season.Probably. But I really love that kid line and salivate at the thought of them feasting on lesser competition. I also would prefer to not play Laf out of position, and Kravtsov/Buch just makes too much sense.
In my ideal scenario, the top 9 get basically identical ES ice time and Laf takes Strome’s wall on PP1. Trocheck goes net front on PP2.

Ottawa spending a ton of money this offseason. Their "rebuild" is over. They're going to scare some teams if their goaltending holds out.
Yet! We are all waiting to see who emerges as the scapegoat. Now that strome, mckegg and georgiev are gone the team is a beauty. As long as Tinordi stays banished to Hartford I have no scapegoat. Nice.
You're thinking about Nosek, Carrier & Reaves.
Carpenter doesn't do much well....at all. I expect him to be our new whipping boy around here, replacing McKegg.
On one hand, I get itYou joke but I’m actually legitimately curious why this hasn’t been done yet. Or a max contract that can be buried. Such as, Motte for 8 years at $1.1m. If his play deteriorates just demote him and don’t make him play?
Did they charge the contract to their AMEX black card? That's a lot of money for Norris. 4 RFA years and 4 UFA years. What are they valuing his UFA years at? $10 million?
Melnyk's daughters are running the show now. Teenage girls and spending am I right?

He got 2 years while Welinski got only 1. Signs.Panarin replacement, dominos
Jokes aside, Drury made a point about the state of Hartford when he took over. Drury was on hand there for a while but his hands were tied in how much he could do. I think that after 1 years time we can see he has made some very good changes there.ScapeGauthier

There’s never never a scapegoat, you’ll find yours in the most unlikeliest of places shortlyNow that strome, mckegg and georgiev are gone the team is a beauty. As long as Tinordi stays banished to Hartford I have no scapegoat. Nice.
