I want to know how we can fit Gusev on this team.

Would be hard, but I think do-able

assuming he'll want alot of $$ not sure how we make the cap hit work...i think we are pretty solid on wing now. would definitely listen but my priority would be on trading for a center

I'm all for adding talent but

A. The Rangers won't have the cap space

And

B. He's very similar in style to Panarin.

I'd expect a team that missed out on Panarin *coughIslanderscough* to be very aggressive in trading for his rights.

After being so low yesterday due to the Knicks "offseason" I have to say this made up for it big time. This is similar to the Yankees 'rebuild' a few years back where they became a great team the next year and of course the best team this year. In a year or two from now we're going to be GREAT for the next 5+ years.

How's Mittelstadt for a young center? Maybe he's expendable to Buffalo after they drafted Cozens?

Howl like you mean it from a cliffs edge
PANARIN IS A RANGER!

Lias for gusev.

I’m probably the minority here, but I’d rather hang on to Lias and see what he can do. I don’t think the organization is as down on him as we are.

Does Gusev play center?

And how can we afford him?

Gusev won’t help us at all at center. Might as well trade for a goalie at this point.

Trading Vlad + Strome would give you Gusev $.

Two players headed towards free agency. That’s awful for Vegas.

How's Mittelstadt for a young center? Maybe he's expendable to Buffalo after they drafted Cozens?

He still can’t do a pull up. Plus he’d be shamed by Lias when they shower after practice.

I heard he drinks his coffee extra light and sweet. He also cried at the end of Titanic.

Let’s not forget about the first time he tasted Chorizo and cried because it was a little spicy.

Some scouts claim he still drinks his mothers breast milk every night after dinner.

He was rarely allowed to watch GOT, but after sneaking in an episode he was connected to Robin Arryn.

Yea.. Let’s pass on Mittelstadt.

There's some thought that Buchnevich might be moved but I found it interesting how JD mentioned Buchnevich specifically when talking about players that would benefit from learning from Panarin. Seems like Buchnevich is definitely in this team's plans though if the right offer comes they may move him regardless.

Well, Edge mentioned that they were listening for offers on him but as more of a "if a good and valuable deal came along they would be open to moving him" not in a "they're actively looking to move him".

Kind of a..."we like this guy but for the right price we could move him to improve our team in other areas" and less like "we want to trade this guy for cap/team reasons"

Trading Vlad + Strome would give you Gusev $.

first $7 mil for a guy that has never played in the nhl in a position we don't really need is alot...not saying he isn't extremely skilled but thats alot

second...we might need to clear a bunch of cap space to just sign our rfas. we need to move out about $7 mil....but thats before you look to add anyone else.

I'm also not in a rush to move strome until we get another center

that was before we got panarin though...we aren't giving him away but our willingness to move him in the right deal probably went up

No, my point is, you those two players for RFA dollars and money for Gusev. The problem is our C depth goes down ...

I mean the plan all along was to make a pitch for Panarin...and in an ideal world Buchnevich really helps round out the top six wingers at the moment. Kakko, Kravtsov, Panarin, Buchnevich. He's not irreplaceable but honestly he's currently the second best proven winger the Rangers have (though they obviously have higher hopes for Kakko and maybe Kravtsov)
