Arthur Staple is downplaying the timing of the trade, but why pull the trigger now 45 minutes before free agency opens...

If Aho can be had and not kill us I'd rather put the money into him and Trouba.

We need cap space going forward. Kakko I heard is in the $3.5m range next 3 years of ELC with bonuses met. Kravtsov will garner a nice raise in 3 years when his ELC is up. I don't see how making a playmaking winger who puts in only 30 goals is worth $11-$13m a year and a large chunk of our cap. Especially when Ryan Strome is our #2 center...HELLO....BIG RED FLAG WAVING.

Winger should never be your "premier" player. It didn't work with Jagr, Gaborik, or Nash. Almost...still didn't.

2 strong centers, 2 strong D, and one strong goalie is my idea of a healthy core and where the bulk of cap should go.

I would deal next year’s 1st as long as it was top five protected. A Zib/Aho 1-2 down the middle, with support from Kakko and Kravtsov has the makings of a very dynamic top six.

The timing doesn't matter. They could have signed Panarin and then traded Vesey.

was it ever really in question ?

good bye chris kreider

panarin was never going to play for the piles.

was he ?

12/6 is my guess

I remember when Incarcerated Bob said that the Jets were signing Nnamdi and I mistook him for a real source because it said WFAN in his bio. Then I found out he was a WFAN caller.
