the rebuild doesn't morph into anything...if we sign panarin it will be because he is viewed as part of the rebuild, just like trouba. it isn't being done to speed up the process. how much better it makes us next year isn't the important thing, its how much better you think he makes us over the next 6-7 years

signing both trouba and moving pionk and keeping brady addresses the defense directly. this defense is better today than it was end of last season.

signing panarin and moving CK is a major overhaul of the forwards. add to that adding kakko into a top 6 slot plus kravtsov and this rebuild is essentially over. its now an on the fly retool with making the playoffs suddenly an expectation for this season.
