The guy just cannot stay healthy. He can be really good when he plays, but if he's constantly missing major significant time every year, you really have to question if its worth keeping him around anymore, especially once his contract expires this summer.

He does have a cheap contract, and between that and Kochetkov's ridiculously cheap contract I wouldn't find it crazy to just carry 3 goalies with Kochetkov as the starter, Andersen as the star reliever, and a ~1.5m Ned type as your more typical backup.

If Andersen can come back for the playoffs maybe you can use him. But if you can acquire a goalie using some of the Fast + Andersen LTIR money, I think you have to consider it.

I've had a suspicion that he might have some kind of mental disorder. Anxiety or OCD or depression or something.

I know for a fact that the 21-22 playoffs, where we were rolling with an injured Raanta and a green PK, Freddie was healthy enough to play. Physically, there wasn't anything wrong with him. Or, at least, he was cleared by the medical staff from injury. My source told me he had "The yips", which is why he wasn't playing.

It would explain why his recovery time tables are always very vague and tend to jump around (as it has in this case).

Looking at Freddie, it's hard to conclude that he has a "happy" visage.

And two, if you’re aware of survivor’s guilt, you’re aware that your brain doesn’t always cause you to act rationally. Dealing with bad anxiety or depression or whathaveyou is the same deal. Your brain is your own worst enemy, and it’s very difficult to handle without some kind of help.

Yall are funny. The dude BLEW it in the playofffs, takes forever to recover from mystery injures (sans the blood clot thing) and is predictibly injured all the time while really being not much better than any other starter we've had over the years who relies on our defense.

I mean, if he cant handle the stress of being a pro athlete, then move on.

And knowing precisely what survivor's guilt is isn't a "tough guy persona" Go f*** yourself, how about that for direct? There's maybe one person on this board who knows what my service record is.
