He's got faults, especially from our own blue line in, but I love him for what he is. He's gonna play hard, he's going to be an asshole, and you know he's going to shoot the puck at the net. He was great tonight and this aggressive style of play should suit him perfectly.
He's actually a solid defender. What he lacks in size and positioning, he makes up for in effort and quickness. He blocked a ton of shots last year and has already this year. He's been playing the PK since last season and has been decent at it. He's not Bergeron out there, but I don't think defense is necessarily a weakness. He's a solid 2nd line caliber wing.

I don’t disagree that when things are very simple for him he excels both offensively and defensively. I also agree his effort and skating make up for a lot of issues. However, when things get complex, We’re just going to have to agree to disagree here. On the Canes first goal he reverses the puck around the net for no reason when the Ducks have 4 players and a numbers advantage in the corner. Now, this could be a read or instruction he’s been given by the coaching staff.

I’m also pretty sure he skated the puck in to that situation unnecessarily but couldn’t find a long enough replay to confirm so I could be wrong. 1 or 2 5 foot passes and they should be skating that puck out easily instead of carelessly reversing to an opponent with no weak side help which lead to an eventual goal. Now, the goal was luck with a bounce, but it’s just unnecessary.

Frankie is awesome. Love his effort and passion. I feel like we haven’t even seen him playing the pest role yet this season either.

Makes up for his lack of natural talent by just working hard and getting open. Respectable.

Have to wonder what we can get for him at 50% retained for 2 playoff runs at the deadline if he keeps scoring at the rate he has so far this season and what he finished last season with. Could be quite the haul

Maybe he'd be quite the player and well worth keeping.

Rather keep him, even if it means he walks in FA in a couple of years. Good veteran players going to be far more important for the team now then back of the 1st/2nd round picks or prospects unless someone severely overpaid.

Ya I would rather keep him and trade him next deadline. No business resigning him though.
I'm hoping that in 2025 we might want to keep him for our own potential playoff run. If our young players are as good as advertised, we should be getting close to the playoffs by then.

Scoring wings for the ducks seem to be really lacking. Before releasing frank back into the wild I kinda want to know who is coming in to the top 6 slot as wing

because he is that middle 6 winger that can play up or down the lineup, he holds a lot of utility to me especially at his current price. Next contract is a whole different ball of wax depending on his $/term demands

I would love it if the talking heads had to say league leading goal scorer frank vatrano even if only for a day. Hopefully he pots one vs pit

Maybe they would get their heads out of their asses and realize we are not last years ducks

Since we're playing on the east coast, beating Boston and Philly, that we have to be talked about. Vatrano is just feeling it to start the season!
