Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. I wanted Scheif to play for him.
Because he wanted that.
Because the NHL locked themselves out of the Olympics in years that he could have played.
BUT... but... I'm glad he's going to be rested and not at risk of injury.
I want Team Canada to win but Helle, Josh and Connor's health take priority over that.

No scheifele on lines 3 or 4 is bad enough.
But the players you do invite?
Doighty hasn’t played 2 games and gets a starting position on the second d pair - pushing Morrissey and Pareto down to third pairing.
That’s almost a bigger travesty.
I’m in the watch them crash and burn phase like someone else referencing the world juniors.
I wasn’t actively cheering against Canada this past WJC but I did do a grinch smirk after every loss.
Hockey Canada is over thinking the f out of everything. To its detriment IMO.

No kidding. It’s a four game tournament FFS…not four best of seven series. There won’t be time for line matching or grinding guys down in the corners.
Just ice your gunners and score some flipping goals for frigs sakes!

I've seen Morrissey and Parayko as 2nd pair on some reports too. I think the reporters are just guessing.

Would have been a cooler tournament with four teams of division allstars...
I'm somewhat excited for this. Nice to get a break up of a long season and some time for our guys to r&r.

I'm looking forward to watching. I don't think these guys are going to play this like an all-star game.
Once the competitive juices start flowing I think it will be good. None of these guys want to lose while playing for their countries.

I don't know, i really can't see Morrissey wanting to hurt Connor so you let up. Matthews and Marner can go at it though.

Tend to agree - the US team does in fact look like a bunch of all stars.
I agree and that's what bugs me about Scheifele not being on Team Canada, there are easily 4 guys on the team that Scheifele would slot ahead of.Tampa coach, oh look 3 Tampa guys on the team.
Hagel is not a plug, but I'd definitely take Scheif over Cirelli, Point, or Konecny

I guess I'll be the contrarian and say that while Canada's goaltending is unnecessarily suspect (it'd probably be fine if they picked Thompson like they should have), the rest of the team is pretty f***ing great.
I'm not sure how you're supposed to defend one of McDavid or MacKinnon coming at you for 40+ minutes per game. Add in Makar and Morrissey on the back-end and you have a pretty insane offensive lineup.
Anything can happen in 1 game tournaments but I still take Canada. It all comes down to if we get Hellebuyck'd.
