Sudbury Wolves 2024-25 Season Thread, Part III

Clarify on ice decisions.

Any GM in any sport has a hand in on ice/field/court decisions pertaining to lineup, input on players etc. But it's a collaboration between HC and GM.

Yes, may have a 'little' frustration finding its way into my post.

I think Paps has been directing the coaching staff more than at the beginning of the season. I say this only based on two things... 1) it's a very different team than in the first half and 2) the team's play now resembles their play in the 2nd half last year as well.

I guess I have a third point. I 'sense' a change in the post game comments from Barney as well. Perhaps my imagination. Perhaps not. Anyone else notice? Or is it just their recent record?

I could well be wrong, just searching for answers...

I don't believe anything you posted here is to be true.

The specific site of the new arena could be selected next week

Papineau has always been involved in the coaching decisions, sometimes a lot or sometimes a little depending on the year. I don't believe he has been as involved this year as he very obviously has been in past seasons

You would have to think he would be most involved this season as his contact is up and he will do anything he thinks could get him resigned. We are going to finish 6th or 7th except it and pace yourself playing everyone. Papineau has a goal to win as many games and if that means double shifting players and losing the confidence of those watching from the bench, so be it. He wants wins for his own hidden agenda. Could it be possible that the coaches hands are tied?

Is this for certain regarding his contract being up?
