tbh this is the offensive heatmap you're asking for when you play Jaccob Slavin 25 minutes.

I don't know if the results reflected as much, but I feel like the PP was down for a while after going from TonyD to Fox. And then went way up, after he built the chemistry/experience with the group. That's just his game, and it's not built for something like this event. Even being down on him a bit this season, it's not something I'm bothered or concerned with.

It's good that they won but they went like 22 minutes without a shot after Larkin's goal.

I wouldn't go anywhere near trying to repeat that against Sweden, let alone in a rematch against Canada.
Well, Canada was pressing and the Americans went into prevent mode. Canada didn't really have a solid scoring chance until McDavid in the slot late. They were kept outside mostly in the 3rd.

Going that long without a shot is bad. The US was horrible on offense tonight. When your #1 defenseman couldn't score 50 points on a pinball machine, your offense dries up.

See Hurricanes, Carolina.

Put garbage ass Slavin back in the #6 role he was brought here to play.

Not sure how some people thought this wasn't entertaining after the early shenanigans. I loved all of it. Beats the heck out of an all star game anyway.

Lots of hard hits without being too careless, lots of speed, good defensive play. This is what I kinda wish the playoffs were like but the talent level is so high it's tough to replicate.

My main criticism would be the Tkachuk Brothers picking fights with the wrong guys. In terms of talent, the US had more talent in the box than Canada. Even JTM to an extent on top of him just fighting above his weight class if I'm not mistaken.

Can you imagine Mika in this game...I can't.

It was entertaining during the early shenanigans, no disagreement there.

I do also think it had some entertainment value as an artifact of hockey. We don't get to see it often enough. In the women's game, they play each other constantly, and I don't understand why the NHL has seemingly gone out of their way to prevent that over the last ten years.

As a game, both of these teams went eternities without producing good chances.
