There won't be room for Marchand next year. These players will be there next year:

Hagel, Marner, Konecny, Stone, Cirelli, Mackinnon, McDavid, Crosby, Point, Jarvis, Bennett, Tavares and Verhaege will slot ahead of him. He isn't Crosby, so they won't take a 37 year old and a soon to be 38 year old next year.

He's too old and further Johnston and Bedard will absolutely be considered.

I think it depends on the selectors. On pure talent and ability Marchand is no longer in Canada's best 12 forwards. Not even close. But experience and leadership do count for quite a lot, especially in short tournaments. If the Canada selectors want him around at the Olympics as a strong presence in the locker room and are happy to have a guy who is more there for that while contributing some limited solid but probably unspectacular TOI, just maybe there's a spot for him. You do already have Crosby filling a similar role though, so it depends how much of it they want.

I think on balance he's unlikely to be picked and I probably wouldn't, but if you get selectors with a preference for wily vets that does bring him into the equation.
