This was always my fear for this tournament - injuries for a trophy that doesn't matter. Yes, the competition is fantastic. But . . . is it worth it?

As long as no Avs players get injured, it's 100% worth it!!

I forgot to mention this during the game yesterday, but I once thought it would be awesome to just have two snipers playing their offside half wall, and there was a point where I really wanted the Avs to go get Laine. Boy am I glad they didn't. Finland's man advantage worked (PP and with the ENG) worked well when they attacked down the middle. But the plays to Laine and Rantanen were just so stagnant. Neither guy moved a lot, and guys know enough about their weapons that if you pressure them with the puck they become much less effective. It's like naval combat moving away from massive, slow battleships.

Oh, another thing I forgot to mention. Did y'all see Ron MacLean talking about his favourite part of yesterday's game being McDavid pointing at Crosby after Crosby and MacKinnon linked up for a goal? That guy can't not talk about McDavid. McDavid could be solely responsible for 10 goals against, look absolutely atrocious all game, and MacLean would talk about how he's so impactful...did you see him drinking water on the bench? Champion material.
