Admitted to hospital for a UBI? Yikes. Hope he’s going to be ok. Would be surprised to see him play Thursday if it’s this serious unless it was incredibly precautionary

Boston battling to make the playoffs, Ottawa is fighting to remain in the playoffs, Panthers want to have another deep playoff run, Leafs also have hopes to do something in the playoffs and both Tkachuks, Matthews, McAvoy got injured in this tournament. Serious injuries or not, is this tournament really worth the sacrifice? I don’t think it is, but it looks like US is the only team that’s going all out trying to win this, that’s why they got bunch of guys hurt

This is what I know.

There have been 6 best on best hockey tournaments this century.

Canada have won 5, Sweden have won 1, USA have won… nothing.

The best defenseman from either team is Makar and he didn’t play on Saturday night.

The best forwards from either team are McDavid, MacKinnon, and Crosby.

The USA have far superior goaltending.

Never count out a hockey team wearing a Canadian jersey until the final whistle.
All I got out of this post is you wish you had the Tkachuk brothers.

I haven't been super impressed by Werenski or Fox. Maybe I'm just used to Makar
There's a lot players playing bad, but Werenski isn't one of those IMHO. Toews, Marner, Matthews, J. Hughes, Fox, Aho, Zibanejad, Marchand, Jarvis, Point, Hintz, Pettersson, and Gustavsson all look pretty brutal. That list is sort of weird because the ones who have looked bloody great - to me at least - are Hagel, Larkin, McAvoy, Slavin, Granlund, Luostarinen, Bratt, Erik Karlsson, Raymond, and Forsling. A lot of surprises on that list.

Thats some injuries we know about. I dont want to know how many players. especially from Canada and the US are allready banged up or injured because of one game....

I really have a bad feeling for Thursday when those 2 are going at each other again and the fallout on friday.

And, to answer your question, NO. Its not worth this "sacrifice". Its a "show-Tournament" of 4 nations.
Canada and USA just didnt get the memo. :D

What?? Toews has been solid for Canada. Nothing flashy but effective.

Personally, I cannot wait for Binnington to blow the rematch game against USA and be public enemy number one in Canada for the next year. Couldn't happen to a nicer pissbaby.

As much as I love my country, it would be hilarious for Binnington to absolutely shit the bed. Ideal situation would be for Canada to be up 2-0, just a super hard fought, but well earned lead. Trash Bin lets in two absolute softies, unscreened, from distance. The GWG comes from one of his hissy fits, but the plays not dead and the US tosses it into a empty net as Binnington plays tough going after someone

International Granlund is a completely different player from NHL Granlund. Do you disagree?
Ofc i do. Should i believe that, for whatever reason, he cares more to win random mini-tournament replacing All-Star game, than winning a Cup, so he puts more effort and scores those goals? I certainly dont. If he found a way to score yesterday, watch him to do the same for Dallas against us in play-offs.

IDK he seems to go super-saiyan in these international things and blows away all expectations. I don't say it as an insult. Dude just goes to another level on those stages :thumbu:
