Team Sweden rosters these days are so underwhelming compared to ~20 years ago when they won gold in the Olympics with this roster for example:

Forsberg - Sundin - Alfredsson
Sedin - Sedin - Zetterberg
Holmström - Jönsson - Modin
Samuelsson - Påhlsson - Axelsson
Hannula

Lidstrom - Jönsson
Kronwall - Ohlund
Bäckman - Hävelid
Tjärnqvist - Sundin

Lundqvist

Missing: Naslund

I definitely miss Sweden being elite. What happened there
I look at this year's roster with Rakell on the top line and think man that guy wouldn't even have cracked the roster in 2006

2006 probably wasn't the peak for the D core though. Years with overlap of Lidstrom, Hedman, and Karlsson was probably the sweetspot there.

Yup. Best thing they can do is let McDavid do whatever he wants and just get open. If guys are going to over handle the puck and keep it away from McDavid they are going to fail. Basically operate it the way the Oilers PP operates and it should be pretty good.
I should say, it is too talented to fail though. McDavid, MacKinnon, and Makar with Crosby's playmaking should be an auto goal.

That Finns sure don't produce good defensemen
It doesn't help 2 of our top 6 got injured just before this + Hakanpää has prob career ending injury, so we missing 3 of our original defence,. Heiskanen+Ristolainen the other two.

Lehkonen 22-24 mins a night incoming

Rantanen doesn’t even play with Aho lol
Feels like they building on that Avs connection between the two, Barkov can play with anyone.

Just curious of everyone's opinion, where do you think the intensity/competitive level for these games lands on the spectrum before it all begins?

If 1 is NHL all stars competition and 10 is the Olympics/cup finals.

Yeah well, Rantanen has played much more with Lehkonen than Aho during their careers. Meanwhile, I guess Pennanen is trying to see if there is something to that magic Aho and Laine had during those world juniors. The only questionable thing is having Kakko as the 13th forward, but my prediction is that he will replace Laine after 10 minutes against USA.
