McAvoy did a great job just keeping him to the out-side.

As much as Sam I am Not is the, without question, the biggest POS in the league, maybe since Claude or Ulf, he had some of the best chances for Canada and that line with Brad and Sid would do damage Thursday.

If Mac was McClaren's height, that would have been Zednik 2.0.

The toughest players on the planet are hockey players. Period.

Matthews is a 2x 60 goal scorer and if the Loafs had Rask, Ullmark, or Helly, or Sway, they'd have 3 Cups by now. Not hard to see he's struggling with something. Mac too. The injuries these guys play through boggles my mind. Mac's a pretty small player to play the way he does and he takes a beating night in night out. Mac is like 95% of the D-Men in hockey - need a good system and a reliable pairing to bring out the best in each other.

USA better be rooting for Finland because elder T brother will likely be ineffective and Makar will be a difference maker. When Brad scores the game winner . . .how will crowd react?? ;-)

I have stated before that Mc Avoy's play might be a result of his injuries, and trying to do to much and feels it is responsibility. Mc Avoy's, play tonight might be proving me right he is just playing his game, hopefully he comes back and takes the same approach when he is playing the Bruins games.

Hughes is small so that can happen but he was more active with the puck and moved his feet even in the forecheck.

Matthews needs to be sent a nessage. Thompson would be far more impactful than this Matthews.

You just made a great point, why is Thompson, not on this team. I know Mathews is a great player, but sometimes watching him, I feel something is missing, Eichel on the other hand I do not think he is appreciated enough.

I agree on everything but part of me thinks they should put the Nova Scotia trio together. They have trained for years together in summer. They know each others habits and would have chemistry. Besides Sid and Marshy already showed in the past they click. (Side note Marshy should have been MVP, not Sid in 2016)

Tom Wilson was a no brainer, he would have neutralized a lot of the rough stuff and go to the net. I mentioned last night that he would be good for Canada. People here think he is trash but he would be 2nd on the Bruins for pts and is 4 goals shy of Pasta. He is playing like vintage Lucic this year and is a prototypical Big Bad Bruin.

Marchand belongs where he is he cannot keep up anymore.

I didn’t think he looked as behind as everyone else, but wonder if they should have put someone else in his spot considering the speed of that game last night. Considering they’re using him in a forechecker role.

As an aside, on this slowish sports day, I wonder how Russia is going to use being left out of this as motivation in the Olympics next year?

A few weeks ago I saw a mockup of what their roster might be for 2026 and it was impressive.

Good game and loads of credit to the Americans for the layers from the red line back. They kept Canada to the outside and McEvoy took McDavid out of the game with those hits. As someone else said McD wouldn’t go down his side after that. If that’s the case he needs to fight through it

Should be good games tomorrow and hope there’s a rematch of last night on Thursday
