I gotta say..

I think it’s absolutely absurd Evan Bouchard was seemingly not even considered for this team.

He would look very good out there.
People like to bash the guy for defensive errors, while he sits at + 21 and is all world dynamite in big games.
Easily should be in over Travis fn Sanhiem man

Hes better than Sanhiem at every aspect of hockey, but Canada wants to take a safe route and eek out games. Oh well

He didn't have a good first three games of the season when the team was apparently selected, prior playoff performance be damned.

The game in Toronto 100% got Bouchard cut from Team Canada and if there was any doubt, things like the last Colorado game just double downed on it.

He has to make his mistakes be less glaring.

Bennett was the only player taking body and he has decent skill. Hyman and Scheifele sure, a big no on Bedard he is a defensive hole and one of teh biggest cherry pickers in the league. I would take Celebrini before Bedard.
Bennett is none of those things. I understand wanting Bennett to be those things, but he doesn't belong on this team. I also get you guys hate Bedard, for some reason, but he's really good.

Makar is 1PP, so Canada would be taking Bouchard for 5v5 play. There are many safe, two way dmen, who still move the puck at a high level. I think Bouch will be in tough to make the Olympics for the same reasons imo.
hahaha, yes of course, this nonsense.

Bouchard wasn't even on the short list after Pietrangelo went down. Like it or not he just isn't viewed by managers and coaches as a top guy in this league.

I will say you are right with Bedard. He's a very smart player and an elite playmaker. He'd play very well on a team with good players. I'd prefer him over Marner.

Right now he's playing with Dog Shit in Chicago.

I just wanted to say again that I thoroughly enjoyed EP40's performance at the 4 Nations.

There's a break for Canada.

He got embarrassed by McDavid on the opening goal of the previous game, tried to get physical and ended up getting himself injured looks like.

He'll be on the team in 2026. He's just having a "poor season".

It really does seem like hockey Canada stopped considering people by mid November and had the team picked that early. Because some guys fell off from a hot start and still made the team while some guys who had bad 3 games to start the season had it held against them.

Imagine taking Brian Burke's opinion as an authority on anything in 2025.

Hockey Canada makes the decisions they make because they're run by a bunch of dinosaurs more interested in celebrating themselves than building the best teams possible. Has been that way since at least the 1990s.

My biggest question is why Marchand has been so quiet on the pest side of things. I notice Bennett being greasy, but not much from Marchand.

You're not creating much, you have to be our physicality answer to the tkachuk bros
