that's exactly what i was saying, that Hyman was easily as good as a selection as was Kunitz was. If not, even more, the guy is coming off a season and postseason with over 70 goals!!!!!!! how was he not an automatic on this team with his line mate? It was the most obvious choice for automatic chemistry in a short tourney with a guy, who has the stats over the last calendar year to not only back it up, but as good as, if not better than any other Canadian winger. And now, predictably, they are looking for line mate(s)fit who might well with McDavid. These "old boys" were too smart and clever to make that obvious choice. I find that insane.
Not taking Thompson? insane.
Our top 6 D, including an old Doughty, who has barely played this year, Sanheim, Harley. But not guys like Hamilton, Bouchard, Weegar, etc. Don't need them, we have Makar, Theodore, Pietrangelo to move the puck. Oh wait, guys get hurt? why would we want guys who can move the puck?
I'm also shocked they picked McDavid, the Oilers are not part of the "in crowd" or "old boys club". It must have really made them angry to have to select an Oilers player.
I want Canada to win, I guess the only good thing that would come out of them losing, would be seeing these dinosaurs fall on their faces. Would anything change? probably not.
