He said the word balls and the word crest and hoped that it would lead to something logical.

It doesn't, but those words have strong enough connotations that it doesn't actually matter in terms of knowing what he's trying to say.

He could've just said "Balls. Crest." People would've figured it out.

Fascinating.

Nothing like fans from non playoffs teams or from teams that were eliminated to chime in and give the Oilers advice
Oh I'm sure your hockey prowess is an extension of your teams success or lack of it!

Thank God Edmonton has canovin as a fan because lord knows where they would be without his expertise...

Mactavish was an Oiler, why would he be telling the team to teabag their own jerseys? Bizarre
More importantly is what the hell went on in that oilers dressing room in the 80s?

"Time to put your balls on the crest"

Does anyone know what it means or stands for? I dont get the metaphor or the euphemism.

Don't forget that Mess played hard (read headshots) and partied hard.

Maybe what he meant to say was "Time to wear your heart on your sleeve"

... but that's just the way it came out?

I don't know, I'm not a doctor.

So, is this evidence that Simpson is neutral and objective in his commentary on this series?

Never mind. I already know the answer.

At least we've not been saddled with Singh and DeBrusk.

Apparently this is an old Mark Messier quote that Mactavish would like to use as advice to the current Oiler team whom he feels is getting outplayed by the Canucks.

Does anyone know what it means or stands for? I dont get the metaphor or the euphemism.

Old men say weird things part #67094092

Like- I get what he’s saying, but balls are famously sensitive. I would not want my balls on my crest in the event of a solid body check, you dig?

The whole balls vs. p***y dichotomy is fascinating, because “he’s got balls” is supposedly tough, but balls, again, are sensitive. “Dont be a p***y”, meanwhile- my man, p***yes push out babies, that’s metal AF.

Anyways, mods will probably take this down, but they shouldn’t. It’s a dumb quote, the visualization makes me shudder, but I get what these morons are trying to say.

Playing good = having balls. Because clearly a manly man is better than a less manly man. Or better than woman? That is what people refer to when they talk about toxic masculinity. Quotes like this one.

I don't expect it from a dude like Messier, but others should know better than to keep requoting him.

If this is satire, it’s so good that I can’t tell the difference.

If you’re serious, get a grip man.

Oilers deserve credit for tonight's win. They had to work hard for 60 minutes and had all the pressure on them to win.
