I believe so, he also gave a supportive reply on instagram to the Ducks making the trade for Cutter.
He coached Cutter: The Sporting Tribune
"Gauthier also spoke to former Duck Ryan Kesler, who was Gauthier’s assistant coach when Gauthier was playing for the U.S. National Under-18 Team. Kesler and Gauthier have spent the last two summers together in Michigan––where both of them live. Kesler was also represented by Overhardt during his playing career, another common bond."

“Obviously, it was a bit different (for him). He was finishing out his career there with family and kids,” said Gauthier. “But he said it would be a great place to start a young career. There’s so much stuff to do, the weather’s great. He had nothing but great things to say about it, so listening to him and seeing how well he’s done in his career, pretty excited to get things going there soon enough.”

It's really nice to hear that Kesler enjoyed his time here. He obviously would have preferred to stay in Vancouver now knowing the results but hindsight always provides a different perspective. It's really hard not to like Kesler. Absolute warrior and hopefully he can pass some of that spirit over to Cutter.

I always liked Kesler. Wish he would still be round here more.

Could use some more "Between Two Zams".

Kesler looked great when healthy and did those skits. Unfortunately, we didn't much out of Kelser during his extension with the Ducks. Looking at the chart below, we had only one great season with Kelser when he signed his extension with us. He was half the player he was for two seasons playing through injuries.

We were relying on the health of Getz, Perry, Kesler, and Eaves. Sadly, the latter two succumbed to injuries early in their extensions, Perry followed after them, and that left Getz alone. Losing three top-6 forwards hurt our chances of being a playoff team.

I’m absolutely dying listening to Bruce’s side of the infamous Teemu/Gretzky story on the new Spittin Chicklets.

Why he isn’t coaching somewhere is beyond me. At the very least he’s a likable guy who knows the game.

Bruce idolizes Gretzky. He had a shot to meet him once and had to turn him down for a previous engagement. Years later in Anaheim he got another chance and took it. They had dinner and it all went well. The next day he goes into the Ducks locker room bragging about it. Soon after he gets a text from Wayne saying he wants to meet for dinner in Edmonton when the Ducks are up there. Before the trip Wayne texts again and says “Sorry, but I’m having trouble getting a flight, can I tag along with the Ducks?” Bruce says yes, absolutely. Soon after the Ducks are on the bus going to a practice or a game, and Bruce gets another text from Wayne saying, “sorry I am having trouble getting a hotel in Edmonton, can I stay with you?” This is when Bruce knew something was up. There’s no way Wayne has no where to stay in Edmonton. So he looks around and Teemu and a few other players are in the back laughing. Sure enough Teemu had been impersonating Wayne in those text messages. I think this was the time when Teemu didn’t like Bruce because Bob Murray forced Bruce to sit Teemu for a game. Teemu was on Chicklets a few months ago and told the story, so you can hear both sides.

Either way I highly suggest the Bruce interview that came out yesterday. He’s got some great stories.
