Anime style directed by Kenji Kamiyama. Takes place about 180 years before the Jackson movies/original story. This is the story of Helm Hammerhand who ended up having Helm's Deep named after him. The story is narrated by Éowyn from the Lord of the Rings with Miranda Otto reprising her role voicing the character.

Supposedly this was put together for the simple reason of New Line not wanting to lose the rights to the books etc.
