I think mostly Drasaitl but not so much McDavid.
Played for the Stars, and everything is bigger in Texas.Did Chris Tanev grow taller? He's now listed as 6'3"
Logan Cooley was listed at 5’10.5 at combine. Up to 6’0 on nhl.com. Can an 18 year old grow 1.5 inches still?Did Chris Tanev grow taller? He's now listed as 6'3"

Combine numbers serve as the base. Always possible to grow a little taller but most kids won’t.
Nfl combine is 21 year olds and older. So their measured height is final.

If Tanev was listed at 6’2 for Van and Cal it is odd that he’s now listed at 6’3 for Tor.
NHL lacks consistency in these measurements, plus lacks visibility when it comes to injuries. Not sure what the point is in adding an inch to a player. I'm not a gambler, but I don't think I'd bet too much on the NHL when injury info isn't disclosed.I've mentioned before here that Mattias Ohlund was 6'2 or 6'3 for his entire Vancouver career and then somehow in his mid-30s in TB grew an inch and became 6'4.
Just looking up a couple of guys that really disappointed in last years playoffs to see how they are doing:
Sam Lafferty has 1 point in 22 games this season.
Ilya Mikheyev has 4 points in 21 games this season.
If you go back on the last 10 games of last season, all of the playoffs and the first 21 games of this season, those two guys have a combined 7 points over their last 80 NHL games.
Like you I expected Mikheyev to bounce back this season thinking his wheels would be back to where they used to be.@IComeInPeace
You posted in the closed Around the League thread so I figure I comment here.
I'm actually surprised Mik isn't better given that it usually does take a year to get back up to speed. Guess that like Roussel he's never going to be the same.
Lafferty sucks. It's odd, it's like he had 1 1/2 good years and then mailed it in since. Like it shouldn't be hard for him to be a 10 goal 20 point guy but now he's making $2M and averaging less than 10 minutes a game with Buffalo.
Lafferty has 5 points in his last 66 games.Like you I expected Mikheyev to bounce back this season thinking his wheels would be back to where they used to be.
Actually I expected both of these guys, even in depth roles to be much more effective than they were in the playoffs.
…but they couldn’t even get in to forecheck hard and make life miserable on Nashville and Edmonton’s defence.
I could kind of live with the ‘hands of stone’ stuff if they were at least contributing on making life hell for the oppositions defense and breakout…
How in the world Buffalo decided to pay Lafferty 2 million after he disappeared in the 2nd half of last season and the playoffs is beyond me.
Lafferty. . .Lafferty has 5 points in his last 66 games.
Pod with goals in three straight.
…and 5 of those points were in the first 4 games.Kuzmenko with 1 goal and 9 points in 25 games, didn't see that coming.
He's scored goals in three straight on 4 total shots, though. Still basically on pace to match his rookie year. Maybe he's really figured it all out and it'll click for him, but I still have no problem with them replacing him as the run-around guy with Sherwood at 500k more.Coilers are a completely different locker room than the Canucks.
And obviously a better fit.
Kuzmenko with 1 goal and 9 points in 25 games, didn't see that coming.

5 | Vladimir Tkachev | Omsk | 75 |
6 | Kirill Pilipenko | Cherepovets | 62 |
7 | Ryan Spooner | Omsk | 61 |
no its just tocchetThis really isn't that surprising. This happened to him here when the coaching staff staff correctly assessed that he could not be trusted 5 on 5 defensively, and that the offence he was creating didn't make up for that bad defensive play. Oh also he skates like he has lead in his boots.
CGY is doing a thing where they are trying to kinda compete, or at least not tear down to the absolute studs and go for a pick unabashedly, and to do so it means reigning in your Kuzmenko usage.
I hope the best for Podzilla. Sad to see it didn’t work out in Vancouver but Jake DeBrusk. He's scored goals in three straight on 4 total shots, though. Still basically on pace to match his rookie year. Maybe he's really figured it all out and it'll click for him, but I still have no problem with them replacing him as the run-around guy with Sherwood at 500k more.

Watched a few shifts the other day and can confirm there's still zero commitment to the two-way game. It's quite remarkable how clueless he is in the defensive zone.Kuzmenko trending as a healthy scratch.
