Yeah, it's been mostly Draisaitl, but his third most common line configuration has been playing with both of them.
Played for the Stars, and everything is bigger in Texas.
Logan Cooley was listed at 5’10.5 at combine. Up to 6’0 on nhl.com. Can an 18 year old grow 1.5 inches still?
Combine numbers serve as the base. Always possible to grow a little taller but most kids won’t. Supposedly D Petey grew post draft as well.
Nfl combine is 21 year olds and older. So their measured height is final.
If Tanev was listed at 6’2 for Van and Cal it is odd that he’s now listed at 6’3 for Tor.
Defenseman Elias Pettersson grew about that much between the combine and the start of his D+2.
I've mentioned before here that Mattias Ohlund was 6'2 or 6'3 for his entire Vancouver career and then somehow in his mid-30s in TB grew an inch and became 6'4.
NHL lacks consistency in these measurements, plus lacks visibility when it comes to injuries. Not sure what the point is in adding an inch to a player. I'm not a gambler, but I don't think I'd bet too much on the NHL when injury info isn't disclosed.
NFL, they have to report what body part is hurt and how much you practiced during the week. Lots of potential prop bets for a WR or RB as well as knowing who's likely guarding them so if a CB has a bad hamstring, can put your bet on the WR and vice versa to go under if the WR is hobbled.

I'm actually surprised Mik isn't better given that it usually does take a year to get back up to speed. Guess that like Roussel he's never going to be the same.
Lafferty sucks. It's odd, it's like he had 1 1/2 good years and then mailed it in since. Like it shouldn't be hard for him to be a 10 goal 20 point guy but now he's making $2M and averaging less than 10 minutes a game with Buffalo.

Like you I expected Mikheyev to bounce back this season thinking his wheels would be back to where they used to be.
Actually I expected both of these guys, even in depth roles to be much more effective than they were in the playoffs.
…but they couldn’t even get in to forecheck hard and make life miserable on Nashville and Edmonton’s defence.
I could kind of live with the ‘hands of stone’ stuff if they were at least contributing on making life hell for the oppositions defense and breakout…
How in the world Buffalo decided to pay Lafferty 2 million after he disappeared in the 2nd half of last season and the playoffs is beyond me.

Coilers are a completely different locker room than the Canucks.
And obviously a better fit.

He's scored goals in three straight on 4 total shots, though. Still basically on pace to match his rookie year. Maybe he's really figured it all out and it'll click for him, but I still have no problem with them replacing him as the run-around guy with Sherwood at 500k more.
This really isn't that surprising. This happened to him here when the coaching staff staff correctly assessed that he could not be trusted 5 on 5 defensively, and that the offence he was creating didn't make up for that bad defensive play. Oh also he skates like he has lead in his boots.
CGY is doing a thing where they are trying to kinda compete, or at least not tear down to the absolute studs and go for a pick unabashedly, and to do so it means reigning in your Kuzmenko usage.

I was randomly looking at KHL stats for last year and I came up on this, didn't realize all three made the top 10 in scoring, but even strangely they were all on the Canucks in 2018-19.
It's like a bizarro world Canucks team, dominating the KHL!

I hope the best for Podzilla. Sad to see it didn’t work out in Vancouver but Jake DeBrusk.
Two of his goals were right in front of the net. Sherwood has been a great addition but would you turn down another Sherwood? Pods makes $1M. It doesn't really matter whether he's playing on the 4th line or up the lineup.
Trading a guy who you think you will likely waive for a 4th ground pick is reasonable. But trading a guy that you really didn't need to waive and making room for a guy like Sprong is a miscalculation. Tocchet said that Sprong wasn't a fit in the top 6 or bottom 6. Most of us here could have predicted that and did.
The trade never made much sense to me. Forget that we invested draft capital and development time on Pods. Pods figured to be a player that fit into what Tocchet wants to do - Tocchet raved about Pods' work ethic and it's generally accepted here that Pods is a well liked player. Pods main weakness is his lack of offensive production. Otherwise, he's 23, cost controlled, hits (can even fight), has been fine defensively, and still has untapped potential. And there's clearly room for him with Joshua out and Raty, Aman, and Bains all having spent time in the minors this season. I get it if he was a top 6 or bust player but he wasn't. He was clearly capable of playing a 4th line role.

Podkolzin showed no signs of doing what he's currently doing for the Oilers for us, I think trading him was the right move.
